Can confirm that Aaron Boone will return for a 10th season as Yankees manager. His current contract runs through 2027. @pcaldera was on it.
Reading the court proceedings of a Revolutionary War widow applying for a pension under the Pension Act of 1836 (yes, it's an exciting Friday night), and I can't get over the fact that the Act was passed 53 years after the war ended.
To be eligible, the widow must have married the vet before the war's end and must not have remarried. Many widows who applied were surely in their late 70s or 80s, and had to appear in court to give sworn testimony with documents and witnesses. Many were illiterate.
In the case of the widow in the court proceedings, she was blind, didn't remember many dates, but was finally approved. She got $33 a year until her death.
More proof that no one ever thinks they make enough money or gets the appropriate amount of respect from their employer.
Troy Aikman this morning on @dfwticket about rumors of tension between him and Joe Buck.
“There’s probably a time and a place for all that. I don’t know if now is the time. I don’t know if it’s hard to figure out kind of what happened. I’ll broadcast through this season and I’ll be a free agent at the end of the year and kind of see what happens. I’m looking forward to whatever the rest of this season does hold and the Super Bowl and all that and where my next landing spot may be.”
We should encourage the bombing of more bot farm data centers. And whichever data centers run Tik Tok.
