PUBLIC NOTICE: ACTIVE THREAT TRAINING EXERCISE TODAY As a reminder, the Adams County Justice Center is closed to the public today while local agencies conduct a full-scale active threat training exercise. The exercise will take place from 7 a.m. to noon and will involve the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Brighton Police Department, Brighton Fire Rescue District, the 17th Judicial District, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and Platte Valley Hospital, among other participating agencies. Platte Valley Hospital remains open and is operating as normal. During the exercise, the public should expect a significant presence of law enforcement, fire and emergency medical personnel and vehicles in and around the Justice Center. Those nearby may also hear simulated emergency noises or observe simulated emergency activity. Please do not be alarmed. This is a planned training exercise, and there is no threat to the public. We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as our local agencies work together to train, prepare and strengthen our coordinated response to critical incidents.
