@KempseyCC had their ground turned over to the War Agricultural Committee in 1942. Club officials sold the pavilion, shed and mower and sent the £133 proceeds to the PM's office.
Churchill thanked them.
Playing equipment was stored to restart cricket after the war.
Many congratulations to @CricketColwall on winning the @TheCricketerNVC today at the majestic @HomeOfCricket - a truly fantastic achievement! 🏏 🏆 🍾
We’ve been graced with some wonderful left handed batsman and bowlers - honourable mentions to:
@joe_worthington @Dozzyy_
It's International Lefthanders Day!
Who, according to you, is cricket's greatest left-handed player?

FIFTEEN years ago #OnThisDay! 😲
One of the most incredible moments in cricket history ❤️🏏
Of all of the strange and new measures put in place to #getthegameon the one that feels most alien to club cricketers is turning up in full whites, surely!!
Should probably shout out @Dozzyy_ for scoring 102* as well ... 😎
#OTD In 2015 we faced @B_LCC for the first time, in a pre season friendly.
The game ended In a 35 run win for KCC, but the biggest quirks of the day came via usual tailender Adam Hunaban opening the batting and scoring 64!

#OTD in 2017 our Sunday XI travelled to @CoombsWoodCC21 for a rain affected pre-season friendly.
@BennyWare top scored for KCC with 40.
The hosts chased a reduced target of 131 in 24 overs.
Only known photo of the game was taken in the bar after play!

With no cricket around for the foreseeable future - we will try and post #OTD throwbacks everyday.
Our first #OTD takes us back to April 2019 and a 3 wicket win (Chasing 80!) against Bidford-on-Avon CC.

Limited experience in the cup but a memorable win away at @BredonCricket in 2016 before going on be very competitive against the then @BDPCL_Official side @thebankcc in the next round. Credit to the Bank photographer for taking a photo that has entered Kempsey folklaw.
This is the Fifa equivalent of the teams who play pros in Sunday friendlies that refuse retire when they get to 💯 ....
A brave effort from @CallumRobinson7 who is defeated by Ajax's pro player who hasn't left his house in years.
Thanks for organising, @leytonorientfc 🙌🏼

Hey @Channel4 if this tweet gets 20,000 retweets, will you air the full 2005 Ashes Series?

Wonder how many cricket clubs struggle with the same issue on ground prep days. Out of 25 people same old 5-6 turning up doing all the work. Far too many people just turn up and play. Probs think cricket fairy's do all the work.
