This may be one of the strongest cases for Alberta independence Keith Wilson has made yet. What made it especially compelling was the Q&A, which starts around the 30-minute mark. He wasn’t just speaking to supporters. He was challenged by law professors, economists, former political leaders and other experienced voices on the practical, constitutional and economic questions around independence. And his arguments held up under serious scrutiny. This is worth watching in full and sharing with someone you think could benefit from seeing it.

Tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m., I’ll be joining Dennis Kalma, John Bolton and Jason Lavigne for a livestream discussion of the Alberta Transition Council’s Transition Plan. We’ll discuss what the Plan proposes, how a transition would be sequenced, and what would be required to keep government, trade, services and daily life functioning throughout the independence process. Join us live on YouTube: @JohnBoltonAB and @TheLavigneShow.

The White Paper HAS DROPPED!
I welcome the Canada West Foundation report as a important contribution to an important debate about Alberta’s future. It identifies many legitimate issues that would have to be addressed in a transition to an independent Alberta. The Alberta Transition Council’s transition plan identifies many of the same issues. Where we differ is in how those issues are treated. Too often, the Canada West analysis takes an uncertainty or negotiating risk and then assumes a worst-case outcome and ignores Alberta’s powerful leverage. Identifying a risk is not the same as demonstrating that it cannot be planned for, negotiated or managed. Alberta would also not be a “start-up nation” in the ordinary sense. We already have a functioning government, Legislature, courts, police, health and education systems, regulators, infrastructure, businesses and highly skilled professional workforces. Independence would require transferring or replacing certain federal functions and establishing a limited number of new sovereign functions. It would not require rebuilding Alberta from scratch. It's about changing the constitutional order so that Alberta becomes responsible for its own future, under a government elected by Albertans and possessing the full constitutional authority of an independent country over its laws, finances, institutions and national decisions. Interestingly, Canada West’s own business analysis acknowledges that trucks would likely keep running and flights would plausibly continue while arrangements were negotiated. Its constitutional analysis also emphasizes the need for governments to prepare negotiating teams, mandates and contingency plans in advance. On those points, we agree. Canada West also acknowledges something important that should not be lost in this debate: Alberta’s grievances within Confederation are real and legitimate. The report recognizes Alberta’s disproportionate fiscal contribution, equalization concerns, project delays, federal energy and climate policies, inadequate representation and comparatively low levels of federal investment. But after acknowledging those problems, the report offers no concrete or enforceable roadmap for ensuring they will actually be fixed. Its answer is essentially to remain in Canada and continue pressing Ottawa for change. Albertans are entitled to ask the obvious question: after decades of making many of these same complaints, what gives us confidence that Ottawa will finally address them? The right response to uncertainty is not fear. It is preparation. That is precisely why the Alberta Transition Council has spent months examining these issues in detail. Later today, we will release our Alberta Transition Plan publicly so every Albertan — including our critics — can read it, scrutinize it and challenge its assumptions. Our objective is not to pretend that independence would be effortless. It will be a substantial legal, governmental and operational undertaking. The question is whether those challenges can be identified, planned, sequenced, negotiated and managed while essential services continue and ordinary life carries on. We believe they can. Albertans should read both reports, examine the assumptions behind the numbers and make up their own minds. This decision is far too important for slogans, fear or unquestioned worst-case assumptions. Voting Option 2 gives Alberta a chance to do better.

Canada's politicians went on American TV and got ROASTED 😂 It is important to understand as you watch this: > Liberal politicians don't get asked hard questions by Canadian MSM. > Both of them were part of the government that gave us a lost decade. > Chrystia Freeland, who has zero background in finance, was the Finance Minister. "Tax and regulatory competitiveness, how bad is it in Canada?! Carney over at Davos talked about cozying up to China and the New World Order... GDP growth in Canada over the last 10 years, you are deadlast basically... The Canadian people deserve to have a better standard of living, it shouldn't be going down."

Albertans wanting to end Ottawa's control over our economy and our province will be forever grateful to @LukaszukAB for giving Albertans a patherway to indepedence. Our future can be one in which Alberta stands on its own feet—self-governing and economically confident—while building strong, respectful and mutually beneficial relationships with both Canada and the United States.
Danielle Smith states that Thomas Lukaszuk is responsible for the upcoming referendum on Alberta separatism.

Looks like Trump ended up cutting Line 5 after all. 540,000 bpd line capacity 2/3 of which is consumed in Quebec and the other 1/3 in Ontario. What a time to be alive.
BREAKING: Enbridge confirms a semi has rolled into an open excavation site on a Line 5 pipeline valve project near Saxon, Wisconsin. It struck the pipe, releasing natural gas. No injuries. Nearby homes are being evacuated. Emergency response crews are on site. 📸 David Bates

Mark Carney just told the Americans "quebec culture and language is not on the table" after importing 4 million foreigners into English Canada I guess Quebec can have a culture, but the rest of Canada is not allowed.

Prosecute/Fauci
🚨NEW: Joe Rogan says he personally knows 5 women who got miscarriages after taking the COVID vaccine, calling Fauci a “sociopath.” “He knew that women were getting miscarriages and he lied about it.” “He said privately in a text message it seems there’s a cytokine storm causing miscarriages after the second dose and was publicly out there promoting the idea of pregnant women getting vaccinated.” “I personally know 5 different people who got pregnant during the pandemic, got vaccinated, and had miscarriages.” “That guy’s a sociopath.” “You need to go and objectively read up on what that guy did with AZT and AIDS in the ’80s.” “He knew there was an issue with women having miscarriages and that mother f*cker still openly promoted it on television.”

Few genuinely understand what's about to happen in metals / miners. We won't see another run like this in our lifetimes.
2025 was the warm-up. Commodity stocks are on the doorstep of a generational breakout ~10 years in the making.

In May 2026, Keith Wilson made the case for Alberta independence opposite former Premier Jason Kenney. Kenney’s argument was rooted largely in nostalgia: Canada is worth saving, and we need to fix it. Wilson’s response cut to the heart of the issue. The Canada so many federalists speak nostalgically about is not the Canada that exists today. And more importantly, while we continue to hear that Alberta should stay and “fix Canada,” where is the viable plan? How will equalization be fixed? How will Alberta regain meaningful control over its resources and economy? How will the fundamental political imbalance within Confederation be addressed? Federalists keep telling Albertans to save Canada. Keith Wilson asked the question they still haven’t answered: How?
