"Today we showed concentration." 🧠 Defender and player of the match Tarik Muharemović praises the mentality of the whole Leeds United squad after substitute Noah Okafor scored the winner against Tottenham Hotspur. Listen 👉 bbc.in/47ZoLVD #BBCFootball | #LUFC

Absolutely first class album, set a template for the pop punk generation to follow which many failed to do so. @Feargal_Sharkey had a voice that defined their sound. The band is still going strong today, but with a new(ish) singer!
Lesser known 70s album recommended by @oldpunker1 The Undertones: The Undertones (1979)

It's quite the headline: Low income pensioners to pay 53.33% tax
On my calc, with the new Pension Tax Allowance - which is not an allowance but a discount - an extra £100 of income for a pensioner between £13,037 and £13,319 means an after tax gain of £46.67 so a tax rate of 53.33%. Chat GPT explains

No 'moderately successful' band has ever played Whitehaven! – at Halesowen, England
Used to manage a band. As they grew to a modest level of success, the singer became an insufferable prick. Used to enjoy booking geographically distant gigs on consecutive days. Whitehaven on Saturday night and Folkestone on Sunday afternoon was a particular favorite.

Step 1: Make energy insanely expensive via environmentalist madness Step 2: Throw money at people to mitigate effects Step 3: Receive pat on the back for "supporting the less fortunate" Step 4: Bankrupt the country

You are the one peddling misinformation! In opposition, you called for a “guiding principle” that enfranchisement premiums be set as low as possible for leaseholders, slashing the costs of lease extensions and freehold buy-outs. Yet paragraph 14 of a government consultation you conspicuously didn’t publicise, which closed on Wednesday, U-turns on that principle. We have the receipts. Your government is proposing “fixes” to the 2024 Act through the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill, yet you’re silent on reviving your opposition amendments “to make premiums as cheap as possible for leaseholders.” How convenient for the freeholder lobby...

All it needs is for @UKLabour @mtpennycook @AngelaRayner to END leasehold as promised in the manifesto and the market would restart. They have been doing as little as possible hoping the issue goes away in favour of big investors...

@mtpennycook you are trying your best not to upset the cartel and end up in court. Well, reality check. Without flats being part of property sales your whole housing strategy falls apart anyway - because the public are done with leasehold and want it gone. @HarryScoffin

Our people don’t take to the streets. But a revolution is happening anyway. With our wallets. Developers blame regulation. Journalists don’t ask the obvious question: What if buyers simply don’t want leasehold scam flats anymore?
