Last night in Kansas, Trump used an antisemitic slur to defend Kansas Senator Roger Marshall over his record of suing his own patients for unpaid medical bills. Considering this is coming from the same man who evicted a stroke victim for shits and giggles, it’s hardly surprising he doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about. Everyone knows by now that Marshall, an OB-GYN, pursued hundreds of former patients over unpaid medical debts. A New York Times investigation reported that he sued more than 700 former patients and that 81 were arrested. Trump’s excuse? He claimed Marshall was legally required to pursue those debts or face criminal liability. That claim is false. There was no law requiring Marshall to sue his patients. He made a choice. His patients faced the consequences. And now Trump is trying to defend that record with a false legal argument and an antisemitic slur. Because desperation is a real thing.
