This is the wild story of how I made $1,036,175 during the COVID lockdowns by rapidly creating a new physical product in 7 days.
In April 2020, during the lockdowns I created 2 things that changed my life:
1. – I launched Shepherd (eventually renamed Somewhere[dot]com). 4 years later we sold it for $52,000,000.
2. – I created a new physical product that made us $1,036,175 in 60 days.
This is the untold story of #2.

I sat down with a half dozen Texans to talk about AI this afternoon and @FinnStaber is building video games with it and laid down a ton of ways he uses it in a few minutes. Here is some of that.
Another entrepreneur at the lunch is making AI’s that run companies. “Like a board of directors?”
“Yeah.”
“You mean we will work for the AIs?”
“Yeah.”
Do we want to slow that down a bit?
GPT can debate with you.
Here I asked it to inform me. Here is its answer (I used an advanced prompt technique like the ones @BrianRoemmele is teaching his clients, will talk about it in comments):
+++++
Certainly! When forming an opinion on AI and whether to slow down the development of large language models (LLMs), it's essential to consider both the potential benefits and drawbacks. Here are some points to consider:
Benefits of AI and LLMs:
1Efficiency: AI can perform tasks more quickly and accurately than humans, potentially increasing productivity in various industries.
2Improved decision-making: AI can analyze vast amounts of data to make better-informed decisions, which can be valuable in fields like medicine, finance, and environmental management.
3Creativity and innovation: AI can generate new ideas and solutions that humans might not have considered, opening up new possibilities in areas such as design, art, and entertainment.
4Assistance and accessibility: AI can help people with disabilities, such as providing better speech recognition for those with speech impairments or enabling more accessible online services.
Drawbacks and concerns about AI and LLMs:
1Job displacement: The rise of AI could lead to significant job losses in some sectors, as machines replace human workers.
2Ethical concerns: AI systems can sometimes perpetuate biases, leading to unfair outcomes or reinforcing stereotypes.
3Privacy and surveillance: AI-powered surveillance systems might infringe on personal privacy and contribute to a surveillance society.
4Loss of control: As AI systems become more autonomous, there may be concerns about a lack of human oversight or control, potentially resulting in unintended consequences.
Considering these points, you might decide that the benefits of AI and LLMs outweigh the drawbacks, but that it's essential to address concerns like job displacement and ethics. In this case, you could support continued AI development but advocate for regulations and guidelines to mitigate potential harm.
Alternatively, you might feel that the risks of AI and LLMs are too significant, and that slowing down their development is necessary to ensure that humans retain control and minimize negative consequences. This could involve advocating for stricter regulations or even a moratorium on certain types of AI research.
Ultimately, the opinion you form should be based on a careful consideration of the benefits and drawbacks, as well as your own values and priorities.
