Six officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department face termination after an investigation uncovered a secret text thread filled with uses of the N-word, plans to shoot at Black residents, and a contest to see who could pull over the most Black drivers.
It was reported that one of the officers involved even bragged to colleagues that their texts “sound like a Klan rally.”
The six unnamed officers face suspension without pay pending hearings before the city’s Civil Service Board. This recent exposure further highlights how systemic racism permeates American law enforcement.

Memphis HC Penny Hardaway on balancing building a competitive roster with a lack of NIL/rev share:

The mother of the 6-year-old who shot his teacher and then told cops, "f*ck you... b*tch," blamed the incident on his ADHD.
During an interview following the shooting, the boy's mother, Deja Taylor, said he had a "disability."
"He has ADHD... he doesn't sit still ever."
In the interview, Turner also appeared to point blame at the teacher for suspending her child, claiming he "accidentally" knocked her phone out of her hand.
The teacher, Abigail Zwerner, suffered a gunshot wound to the hand and chest. She needed multiple surgeries and spent weeks in the hospital.
I'm not a doctor, but I don't think ADHD makes you shoot your teacher.

While his comments are insensitive and tone deaf, that misses the point. Smith is paid to provoke. He’s paid to generate exactly the types of responses he’s getting today. His bosses love this. Not saying it’s right. Just saying it’s the way it is.
