هناك أخبار الآن تشير إلى نشاط وجهود تبذل للوصول إلى حل يضع حدا للحرب الدائرة في منطقتنا بين إيران من جهة وأمريكا وإسرائيل من جهة اخرى، وما ينجم عن هذه الحرب من توتر يزداد خطره يوما بعد يوم.
وإني أتمنى أن تؤتي تلك الجهود ثمارها وأن تتكلل، كما قلت مرارا، باتفاقية واضحة وصريحة، وليست اتفاقية مرحلية أو هدنة مرحلية، لأن الهدن المؤقتة لا تحقق الغرض المنشود، ولا تؤدي إلا إلى تصعيد التوتر وازدياده وقد يتحول إلى قنبلة موقوتة يمكن أن تنفجر في أي لحظة. وإنني أتمنى أن يسود العقل والواقعية، وأن تُغَلَّبَ مصلحة المنطقة على المصالح الآنية، وأن تعي دول منطقتنا أن هي المعنية بالحل، وهي أول من يتأثر باستمرار التوتر واندلاع الحروب.
