As we observe Knife Crime Awareness Week 14-21 May, we look back at when @AlfieBradleyart #KnifeAngel visited Aberystwyth. Each year, too many lives are taken due to knife crimes. As practitioners, it’s important to check, during risk assessments, perpetrators' access to weapons
Diolch to @DPOPCC for inviting us to the launch of the #KnifeAngel in #Aberystwyth. Made of confiscated, crime and amnesty knives, it stands as a monument against violence and aggression. Fantastic event, we look forward to being further involved this month

Truly shocking. Our young people desperately need to be able to access this vital support when it’s needed, not when it might become available. More support is needed.
Shocking figures from earlier this year. The need for more early mental health support is clear and urgent.
ALT The number of young people undergoing treatment or waiting to start care in CAMHS reached 466,250 in May. The highest number on record. These young people could fill Wembley Stadium, five times over.

Did you know the number of children exploited online doubles between the ages of 11 and 12 yrs old? This means those at the end of primary school, and those just starting secondary school are particularly at risk, especially as this is when some children begin to use social media

Everyone messes up. Don’t suffer in silence no matter how embarrassing- talking will share the problem and take power from the bullies you once trusted.
Powerful @washingtonpost report on the worrying spike in financial exploitation of teenagers, with abusers threatening to share self-generated images. It’s now of the fastest growing tech-facilitated threat vectors, with 10k reports last year washingtonpost.com/parenting…
Well done to the team involved in the Knife Angel Colchester visit. We know from experience the power of this monument in the fight against violence. Proud to see Essex now hosting for a third time.
Good to see this back in Essex. Congrats on the success of Harlow visit .
@EssexPFCC Roger Hirst attended Harlow for the closing ceremony of the #knifeangel project. Tackling knife crime is one of the top priorities for Roger Hirst as a part of his action plan to reduce the fear of crime.

Good to see the responsibility for #violencereduction being discussed within healthcare, difficult to see where the most meaningful engagements can be made. What are #HEMS teams doing? #knifeangel initiative below supported by @Keepit100E – at East, England
