MidiViz Version 2.1.4 - Controls and Visuals
October 9, 2026
Make Video gains an instrument-inspired interface, new visual categories and remembered settings, with Autoplay, smoother audio response, Space scenes and animated interface borders.
Mobile Controls and Preferences
- Make Video has an instrument-inspired interface with raised buttons, recessed selectors, clear readouts and tactile faders. Larger visualization cards and compact song setup make better use of phone screens and expand side by side on tablets.
- More options organizes Visualization, Palette, Audio inputs, Brightness, Movement and Performance into focused panels. Title and lyric controls are available during song setup, with readable styling menus.
- Your visualization choices, palette settings, brightness, Movement, preview quality and input preferences save automatically to your account, or stay in this browser for guests. Saved looks and timeline clips retain their own visual settings.
Audio and Movement
- Audio inputs keeps source and device choices, reactivity presets and the main response controls together, with one Fine-tune view for detailed adjustments. Audio decay softens releases from Off to two seconds and applies to previews and exported videos.
- Choose Classic, Flow or Pulse movement. Flow coordinates related effect controls; Pulse adds a gentle response to the music. Adjust movement amount and speed, then keep the result in a saved look.
- Musical lighting fades continuously instead of replaying delayed flashes. Automatic brightness also dims gradually when highlights become brighter.
Explore and Autoplay
- Explore starts or resumes your selected song and keeps the loading bar visible until the visual is ready. New explorations choose fresh compositions and movement paths; saved looks and history retain their captured settings.
- Play modes adds Autoplay, alternating Wilds and Instruments with a song or live input. System Sound can run without a song upload when browser audio sharing is available. By default, visuals change every 20 seconds and effects change at 10 and 15 seconds; you can adjust and save these timings.
- Autoplay keeps prepared visuals and effects ready for later swaps. Menus, hidden tabs, paused input and loading pause the rotation clock. Visual failures offer Resume, while unrelated save errors no longer stop rotation.
Instruments, Images and Video
- Choose Wilds, Instruments, Images, Video or Space from the setup screen. Instruments combines detailed keys, pads, strings and resonators with LED tiles, illuminated faders and backlit panels. Select a layout or shuffle its musical response directly.
- Images turns uploaded pictures into sculpted light, prismatic glass, cut paper, ink, liquid metal and woven ribbons, alongside gentler photographic treatments. Adjust treatment strength and choose Fit or Fill framing; reuse pictures from Your uploads.
- Video transforms your footage with glass, neon, projection, print and reflective treatments. Choose from 19 effect looks, including Oil painting, ASCII monitor, CRT broadcast and Light trails, without changing your footage, framing or source treatment.
Space and Interface Overlays
- Space offers thirteen scenes, including black holes, stellar eclipses, comets, aurora worlds and supernova remnants. Detailed accretion disks, solar plasma and uneven comet streams join starfields with small, distant worlds.
- Choose a Space scene, adjust its individual layers, or use New composition to vary the arrangement. Space prepares only the selected scene when needed and keeps automatic brightness off in previews and exports to preserve its dark backgrounds.
- Interface Overlays adds eight animated sci-fi borders with distinct instrument panels and gently music-reactive gauges. They appear in about one in four new Wilds effect combinations and can also be selected in Effects. The text-free designs leave the center clear and remain in saved looks and exported videos.
Timeline and Playback Fixes
- Fixed a song-selection warning that could block creating a timeline even when the song was already loaded.
- Fixed Video failing to open clips with a short delay before their first frame.

Using the new mobile interface live. Click changes effects. Swipe changes shader. Not every random combination is good, but I think a lot of them are, and they're getting better fast.
Already included for my very appreciated subscribers at midiviz.com/make-video.
