Hardware Wallets are good for offline signing, NOT long term cold storage of your seed words. Write it down (acid free paper and pigment-based archival ink) or stamp it in steel.
Tried using booting up old @Ledger for the 1st time in years to move btc to new multisig. Display completely fucked. Updated firmware - bricked. Tried recovering from seed words - checksum incorrect. Currently writing a script to try recover funds. If anyone has exp plz DM me.

If Seedsticks helps even a few people secure their bitcoin better, all the work behind it is worth it.

Here is a screenshot from Reddit in which CoinKite claim to delete all user data after 120 days. Next to it is an email from CoinKite received yesterday - 5 years after the last order. And following an email from a scammer who apparently has the data as well.

Excellent alternative to dice method.
My stack is safe because I have been using @seedsticks_org to generate seed phrases for years. I spent ~$150 to buy a product from a lone pleb in Switzerland with a laser engraver and a dream. I pull my private keys out of a hat of pure physical entropy.

This is why we created @seedsticks_org. Because without, you'll simply never know.

As it is just software, I can remove all this things. Now I can double spend. It's still a blockchain. Because a blockchain is just a way to store data - nothing more. The truly revolutionary thing that Satoshi introduced was not the blockchain, as this was already well known, but the combination with the proof of work, difficulty adjustment, and so on. All simple things on their own, but revolutionary in the way Satoshi combined them.

These things (consensus building, decentralization, etc.) make Bitcoin unique, but have nothing to do with blockchain. I can run Bitcoin at home in isolation (without any decentralization), it then no longer has any of these amazing properties, but it is still a blockchain.

Absolutely. But because each Git commit carries the hash of its parent commit and thus forms a chain. This is exactly the data structure that makes up a blockchain.
