Tech: where immigrants are industry leaders, workers are multi-millionaires, companies respond to employee concerns on social issues, and everyone competes to be the greenest.
It's the most progressive industry in the world.

This has been Putin's dream for years: That his country, with GDP per capita lower than Poland, unable to conquer Donbas since 2014, will be treated as an equal to the US and China.

๐บ๐ฆ Zelenskyy delivers a blunt message to the United States:
โJust give us Starlink back. If you refuse, Ukraine will survive. We will continue defending ourselves with or without it.
But why would you restrict a country fighting for its survival? Why make it harder for us to defend our people?
I simply cannot understand the reasoning behind this decision. It is a mistake.โ
Ukraine isnโt asking America to fight its war. Itโs asking America not to stand in the way of its defense.

Just to be clear about what happened here:
- Trump cut a deal with Putin that will route ~$4B of American dollars to Russia. That money will be used to fund the war.
- Trump announced an "energy ceasefire" that was probably Putin's idea, surprised the Ukrainians, is structured to benefit Russia, and was immediately broken by the Russian military.
- When Zelensky spoke candidly about these terrible deals, the US cut off Starlink access in ways that made it harder for Ukraine to intercept Russian drones, and seemingly withheld intel about ballistic missile attacks.
- Last week alone, Russia killed more than 150 civilians in Ukraine, including 33 in one strike on a bus stop.
Trump is de facto asking @ZelenskyyUa to surrender. Zelensky can throw on a suit, he can endure lectures from whiny little bitches like @JDVance, but he can't lay down and die just because Trump wants the Nobel Peace Prize.
Putinist
Ukraine has โalready lostโ the war against Russia, says @Alice_Weidel, co-leader of the Alternative for Germany party, which is leading German opinion polls. She told @zannymb, that Germany should pull the plug on support for Ukraine against Vladimir Putinโs invasion.

Well-known Ukrainian military aerial reconnaissance specialist Oleksandr "Serg Marco" Karpiuk writes on Facebook:
"...Starlink is a civilian communications system. And SpaceX is responsible for its civilian use. Standard Starlink terminals currently have a default speed limit of 22 m/s.
To enable flight at speeds above 22 m/s, Ukraine signed contracts for Starshield, which is overseen by the Pentagon. This is already a military system, with Starlink terminals that offer greater functionality, although the accounts are considerably more expensive.
And it was the Pentagon that did two things in a single day: restricted intelligence sharing and changed the parameters of Starshield accounts.
This was a decision by the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth. Clearly on Trump's orders...."
Maybe this is the key to understanding what exactly happened.

Utterly surreal. Trump is explicitly admitting that he was relying on Putin's bot farms to manipulate US voters in the mid-term elections.
Has any previous POTUS ever demanded that a hostile foreign nation must be allowed to interfere with American democracy? Naked treason.

At this point the whole EU Inc negotiations are so lost in the details that everyone forgot the main goal: Creating a standard.
Basically, allow founders to raise quickly globally and use stock options to hire competitively.
Letโs say it quite clearly:
1) If EU Inc isnโt providing a standard itโs useless. We already got 30+ legal entities in Europe. Experienced founders use Delaware Inc already because of this.
2) If EU Inc doesnโt fix stock options Delaware Inc is still the better option.
I understand the there are complex details and people are worried about loopholes. But you canโt lose the actual goal of it because of it.
An EU Inc that doesn't provide a standard is pointless. Nobody will care about intricacies of compromises reached in political committees if the market can't use the outcome.
If you are in contact with your political leaders (prime ministers, presidents, et al) please reach out to them. Or to founders/investors in your network who might have that access.

Apparently, Putin knows โ or at least is convinced โ that Donald Trump's party will lose these elections.
And that means time is running out. Even Putin cannot predict what will happen after the elections. That is why he is in such a hurry.
We do not know exactly what the dictator told Trump over the phone.
But I am becoming increasingly convinced that this is not about diesel, gasoline prices, or even approval ratings.
I have another theory: it was a direct threat.
How else can we explain why, after speaking with Putin, Trump begins effectively carrying out the Kremlin's wishes, imposing his own version of โsanctionsโ against Ukraine?
Russia bombs Ukrainian cities every single day, murders civilians, and destroys energy infrastructure. Meanwhile, the American president pressures Ukraine to stop striking Russian oil refineries and eases sanctions on Russian diesel.
Whose foreign policy is this, anyway โ that of the United States or the Russian Federation?
I see no convincing explanation for such behavior other than the possibility of direct Kremlin influence over the American president.
And after the arrest in Germany of a former head of German intelligence, who also held a senior position in the Interior Ministry, on suspicion of cooperating with a foreign intelligence service, very little seems surprising anymore.
Of course, suspicion is not proof of guilt.
But who could have imagined just a few years ago that we would seriously be discussing the possibility that the President of the United States makes decisions under direct pressure from the Kremlin?
And the main question is no longer what Putin said to Trump.
The real question is: What exactly is Trump afraid Putin might tell him next time?

UK digital policy running circles around the EU right now
UK AI Minister @KanishkaNarayan tells us the the UK has attracted 50% of European venture capital in the last 12-months, a 16 year high for the nation:
"Why is it that in the last 12 months Britain has cleaned up 50% or so of European venture capital? A 16-year high...we're doing really well in terms of startups".
"At the same time, the UK has the best AI security institute, the ability to be able to test models, understand risks, and mitigate them from a cyber point".
"We've got some great guys from companies coming and working with us, and we've got some great people from government going and working with those companies."

Overnight, the Russians used 39 ballistic missiles and more than 120 attack drones and loitering munitions against our energy and critical infrastructure in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and Kharkiv. A targeted Russian ballistic missile strike specifically against energy infrastructure โ the very infrastructure covered by the ceasefire announced by the American President. The strike was entirely deliberate and demonstrative in its scale โ Russia has never before shown such ostentatious disrespect toward the United States. Russia does not consider the American Presidentโs statements strong. Unfortunately, at least 600,000 people are now without power. Outages could become even more widespread. Unfortunately, there is significant damage to facilities and equipment โ at 26 facilities of our power system and four facilities in the oil and gas sector. I am grateful to the repair crews, all Ukrainian energy workers, and the personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine for all their efforts to address the aftermath of this Russian strike. Tragically, there have been fatalities and injuries.
We ask America and EVERYONE in the world who does not turn a blind eye to reality to respond โ and to respond forcefully. Russia has squandered the opportunity for de-escalation and has clearly chosen to continue its insane war of annihilation. We ask President Trump to impose STRONG sanctions on Russia, especially since the Lindsey Graham bill, which was recently passed and signed into law, authorizes and regulates such measures. The American President has all the effective and necessary tools to bring peace closer through strength, justice, and pressure on the aggressor. We ask for additional packages of Patriot missile interceptors for Ukraine. It is entirely fair for us to tell the United States, Europe, and all our partners that no country in the world should be left alone to face such a deranged and pro-war actor as Russia. I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine! Peace can only come through strength, and we ask America to remember this principle of Reaganโs. Glory to Ukraine!
