Celebrating the rebel that was Guru Nanak. Revolutionising thoughts about the haves and the have-nots since 1469. Modelling and instilling liberation, anti-oppression and self-sovereign praxis and generally amazing individual who made us who we are. (His sister was the OG too).

Thank you to the many thousands of people across the whole of the NHS & social care who helped deliver the care during the pandemic. Has been a strange and difficult day. But felt it was important to give witness to some small part of the enormity of the challenge we all faced.

Unfortunately the lack of bail for Jagtar Singh probably isn't a surprise based on the experience of the Indian legal system over the last few decades. It is however frustrating that countries like the UK continue to turn a blind eye... theguardian.com/world/2024/s…

"the patient voice is not loud enough" finds Ara Darzi. Since my career started in this space in 2008 to now, we definitely seem to have gone backwards and there seemed to be more inspirational/effective patient-led initiatives in the earlier days.

We need to reject this individualist mindset that pits young against old and public sector workers against vulnerable pensioners. We have the resources in this country to ensure people are paid a decent wage and our elderly can retire with dignity. We lack the political will.

It comes as no surprise that the House emptied just hours after the judge announced the publication of the phase 2 report. It shows how many of those within the political elite are a part of the disregard, indifference and incompetence that contributed to the deaths of our 72.
'There were lots of empty seats....I was really quite shocked' @Peston says he was surprised by how many MPs left the Commons before the prime minister's statement on the Grenfell Inquiry report.
