I was really saddened to hear of the passing of June Mendoza at the age of 99. I was hugely privileged to have met her. I even corresponded with her on her 98th birthday. Here is her portrait on the 4 year old me. RIP.

That this man has walked free after only serving nine years for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp goes to show the paltry value criminal justice systems places on women's lives.
