Disgusting. Putting a target on asylum seekers temporary place of refuge. Your own constituents.
@SarahEdwardsTam if you had any conscience you would resign.

Labour, if today’s polling played out in a general election, could have a majority of more than 330 MPs with same number of votes they won in 2017.
We have an insane electoral system. If it ever used to produce stability it certainly doesn’t now. We need PR.
1/2 Popping-in for a sec... Speaking to my Mum yesterday, who's not lefty, her take on Starmer: "he's just NOTHING isn't he... He doesn't mean anything".
When @LabourParty get 1 term in govt, make no real change, & lose ground to the far right, KNOW that it was so predictable, & – at Norwich, England

As we finish what’s likely to be the final Labour conference before the next election, @AlexJChampion asks – what remains of the party’s 2019 Green New Deal?

Idk what ‘rewire the economy’ means to students, but we should be committing to bringing back maintenance grants, scrapping tuition fees and ending rip off rents which push students into financial hardship and make studying impossible for so many.
I remember how excited I was to move to Leeds to study.
It was a financial stretch then - if I were a student today, I simply wouldn’t be able to go.
My Labour government will rewire the economy so it rewards hard work and allows aspirations to flourish.

In this poll of LGBTQ+ Britons, just 3% opted for ‘LGB’ - the acronym used to deliberately exclude trans people.
This shows lesbian, gay and bi people overwhelmingly see trans people as part of their community.
So stop pretending there’s a civil war over this. There isn’t.
LGBT is the acronym the media tends to use to represent the queer community, but queer Britons themselves are more likely to use LGBTQ+
LGBTQ+ 29%
LGBTQ 13%
Combined: 42%
LGBT 21%
LGBT+ 8%

LGBTQIA+ 11%
LGBTQIA 2%

Labour win 2024/5 by a razor thin majority.
It spends its tenure conceding to the far right + pushed by the tabloids.
It loses 2029/30, having fertilised the ground for a truly fascistic Tory government that can more competently execute fascistic policy than this one.

I was just on my way back from the loos in the south bank centre & I passed a woman with short hair on her way down. Security guard started yelling at her questioning her gender. She yelled back then continued.

Thank you to the 5 members of planning committee who stood up for Norwich renters, and the fight for affordable housing.
But we won’t be giving up.
Yesterday @NorwichCC decided that income streams for property developers were more important than affordable housing for the community.
This is a damning indictment of the Council itself, but also their vision for the city.
Norwich can be a better city, a socialist city- one

Solidarity is the most moving thing. Even solidarity among comfortable football pundits can destroy the illusion that we're all just selfish individuals in competition with one another - the illusion that capitalism conjures.

Probably one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to write. I felt so many emotions whilst composing the statement and I’d like to say thanks to those who helped in writing this.
Brianna didn’t deserve to lose her life, especially not for simply expressing her true self.
Harry and I were proud to stand with @UEA_UCU this morning ✊
Working conditions and learning conditions at UEA are atrocious- students and staff both deserve better.
Keep up the good fight for a sustainable HE sector and a future we can be proud of 🍞🌹
