Have you ever traveled with a 6 month old to Argentina? If so, how did you wrangle it? Debating meeting Michael at the bottom of Aconcagua when he goes in January but it seems like it might be a heck of a thing to execute.

🤯BREAKING: Researchers just mathematically proved that AI layoffs will collapse the economy: and every CEO already knows it. The AI Layoff Trap. A game theory paper from UPenn + Boston University is glaringly important! 100K+ tech layoffs in 2025. 80% of US workers exposed. And no market force can stop it. → Every company fires workers to cut costs → Every fired worker stops buying products → Revenue collapses across every sector → The companies that fired everyone go bankrupt It's a Prisoner's Dilemma with math behind it. Automate and you survive short-term. Don't automate and your competitor kills you. But everyone automating destroys the demand that makes all companies viable. UBI (universal basic income) won't fix it. Profit taxes won't fix it. The researchers found only one solution: a Pigouvian automation tax "robot tax" The AI trap on the economy is here!

They put scars on women’s faces for a job interview experiment… then secretly removed them. The women went in believing they had visible disfigurements — and came out reporting massive discrimination, with interviewers supposedly referencing their “scars.” Konstantin Kisin used this study to make a powerful point: constantly telling people they’re oppressed or disadvantaged primes them to see discrimination everywhere, even when it isn’t there. It’s the same psychological effect as buying a new car and suddenly noticing that model on every street. The ideology of victimhood doesn’t just describe reality — it actively shapes it. We should be teaching young people they’re strong and capable of overcoming adversity, not training them to see themselves as permanent victims. What’s one way you’ve seen this “victimhood mindset” play out in real life?

Riveting, extraordinary and brutally honest speech by Mark Carney, Canada's prime minister. God, I wish we would have European leaders like this. Here's an excerpt: In 1978, the Czech dissident Václav Havel, later president, wrote an essay called “The Power of the Powerless,” and in it he asked a simple question: how did the communist system sustain itself? And his answer began with a greengrocer. Every morning, the shopkeeper places a sign in his window: “Workers of the world unite.” He doesn’t believe in it. No one does. But he places the sign anyway to avoid trouble, to signal compliance, to get along. And because every shopkeeper on every street does the same, the system persists — not through violence alone, but through the participation of ordinary people in rituals they privately know to be false. Havel called this living within a lie. The system’s power comes not from its truth, but from everyone’s willingness to perform as if it were true. And its fragility comes from the same source. When even one person stops performing, when the greengrocer removes his sign, the illusion begins to crack. Friends, it is time for companies and countries to take their signs down. For decades, countries like Canada prospered under what we called the rules-based international order. We join its institutions, we praised its principles, we benefited from its predictability. And because of that, we could pursue values-based foreign policies under its protection. We knew the story of the international rules-based order was partially false, that the strongest would exempt themselves when convenient, that trade rules were enforced asymmetrically, and we knew that international law applied with varied rigor, depending on the identity of the accused or the victim. This fiction was useful, and American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, open sea lanes, a stable financial system, collective security, and support for frameworks for resolving disputes. So we placed the sign in the window. We participated in the rituals, and we largely avoided calling out the gaps between rhetoric and reality. This bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition. Read/listen in full: globalnews.ca/news/11620877/…

Is there anything more frustrating than trying to deal with the American healthcare system? UHC. Emblem. Whichever. They're all terrible and dysfunctional. There's no reason for this to be this way.

"White House officials are furious with Bill Pulte, the Federal Housing Finance Agency director, who talked the president into suggesting a 50-year mortgage plan. “On Saturday evening, Pulte arrived at President Donald Trump’s Palm Beach Golf Club with a roughly 3-by-5 posterboard in hand. A graphic of former President Franklin Roosevelt appeared below '30-year mortgage' and one of Trump below '50-year mortgage.' The headline was 'Great American Presidents.' "Roughly 10 minutes later, Trump posted the image to Truth Social, according to one of the people familiar, who was with the president at the time." @DashaBurns @SophiaCai99 politico.com/news/2025/11/10…

If you're making more typos in iOS lately, you're not going crazy - it's a bug in iOS that causes the keyboard to randomly insert the wrong letter instead of what you typed.
