20 trans women are thought to be currently playing football at grassroots level. 20. Not the WSL, not the Championship, grassroots. My heart aches.
The Football Association has confirmed that transgender women will no longer be able to play in women’s football in England from June 1. The FA say this is following the material change in the law announced by the Supreme Court on April 16.

Another grim twist in this: the 20 or so registered trans players in England were emailed by the FA offering them six free therapy sessions after being banned from playing women's football, but no immediate on-pitch alternative 🏳️‍⚧️ inews.co.uk/sport/football/f…

TRANS WOMEN BELONG IN FOOTBALL 🏳️‍⚧️ Thank you to @RobDorsettSky for having me join Sky Sports News this evening to talk about how this cowardly ruling from the @FA impacts my wonderful trans inclusive football team.

Latvian farms participated in a sunflower campaign last year, to raise money for Ukraine's largest children's hospital, hit by a Russian strike. Historically, was the #sunflower a symbol of resistance in #Latvia? Wilhelm left because of his politics. #History @TheRestHistory
Replying to @KatMace11
Here he is the man himself... on a visit to Riga later in life. Wondered if the sunflower could mean anything? He came over to East London in the 1880s on ships as a mariner before working as a dock labourer.

Or, am I mistaken? Could it be the oxeye daisy before it became the official flower of Latvia in the 1940s. It's become a symbol of patriotism since, but what about before? #Latvia #Ancestry

Any German speakers (Latvian records c1850-1880s) able to tell me if anything in these registers might help me to know if this could be Gottard Lagsding, an innkeeper from Riga, and father of Wilhem who was born in 1858. #Genealogy #AncestryHour #Ancestry #Latvia

Shockingly, only 1 in 4 disabled children in the UK say they take part in regular sport and PE. 14 year old Bly Twomey is calling for change for every disabled child in the country by making the Equal Play sign with her arms. #EqualPlay 🟰 #ParalympicsGB

As we prepare to start a new grassroots season, it's important to remember that sometimes mistakes happen in grassroots and the game is much more enjoyable once we accept this. ⤵️
