Why am I being asked questions on a job application regarding race and gender, for example, what are my pronouns, what gender (chose of 6) do I identify with, etc. I thought this was no longer legal. @USEEOC @andrealucasEEOC @HarmeetKDhillon

I’m still angry that I fell for the Big Food trap.
It was the same playbook as cigarettes, alcohol and drugs. The plan was designed to hook me, pacify me, and keep me spending.
I used to tell myself, I’m strong enough to walk away any time I want. How wrong I was.
The problem wasn’t weakness. The problem was believing that I was always in control.
I had to shed that mentality and get mad at the rich, powerful organizations that built the trap. They were the ones who engineered the cravings, shaped the messaging and quietly collected my dollars while I blamed myself.
I wasn’t weak.
I was targeted.
I was outgunned.
That's why I do what I do. I want more people to be angry and once there's enough of us not buying the story, the story collapses.
Fighting back is ridiculously simple.
Eat real food.
Pass it on.

UPSIDE Foods and GOOD Meat cleared USDA and is selling cell-cultivated chicken right now in restaurants, not in grocery stores chains yet
Wildtype’s salmon is FDA cleared and is already on the menu in a handful of restaurants
The company Mission Barns got USDA label and inspection sign-off and already has a limited Sprouts placement in Oakland for products that mix cultivated pork fat into conventional meat
A realistic estimate to when we can start seeing this on the grocery stores shelves would be around 2030
Many of what’s being made is cell cultured meat for restaurants and not 3D printed yet
However plant based 3d printed meat is already on our grocery store shelves

The reason that I spent nearly 45 minutes tonight replying to degenerate fascist @RebeccaSear and lobotomized gold fish @pzmyers is to embolden young academics to not be afraid to go after their bullies. I don't care about the latter two idiots. They are an insignificant stain. I care about the audience who is watching me go after them. Always be polite at first BUT if someone attacks you, demeans you, insults you, seeks to harm your reputation by defaming you, then be a honey badger. Be relentless. Defend your honour. Don't allow the academic fascists to dictate what you can or cannot say. It is best to live 5 minutes with dignity than 500 years as a cowardly sheep. F them. Be an intellectual NAVY seal.

Nobody said a word for twenty years.
Cereal for breakfast, from a box with a cartoon tiger on it. Perfectly normal. Part of a balanced breakfast, it said so on the side.
Sandwich, crisps, fizzy drink, five days a week at a desk. Nobody rang anybody.
Chocolate bar at eleven. Another at three. Colleagues watched this happen daily and said nothing, because they were doing it too.
Takeaway on the Friday. Second takeaway on the Saturday. My mother, who now worries about my kidneys, once brought the second one to the door herself.
Pints on a Thursday, kebab at midnight, chips out of paper on the walk home in the rain. Not one intervention. Not a leaflet. Not a raised eyebrow from a single medical professional in the country.
Biscuits at every meeting I have ever attended, provided by the employer, as a kindness.
Twenty years of that and the general public looked on with total serenity.
Then I ate a ribeye with butter on it and declined the side salad.
Now there's concern. Now it's "but is that sustainable." Now somebody's aunt is a nurse and would like a word. Now I'm getting "everything in moderation" from a man who has had a Twix for lunch since 2009.
Two decades of the actual damage and the room stayed silent throughout.

Poznaliśmy się na egzaminie na filozofię ponad 20 lat temu. Byliśmy młodzi i głupi, nie słuchając rozsądnych opinii szybko wzięliśmy ślub.
A potem życie zrobiło swoje i dziś żyjemy w dwóch różnych światach.
Ona: dzieci, szkoła, dydaktyka, nauka, góry, natura, koty, dramaty.
Ja: firmy, fundusze, inwestycje, biznes, miasto, beton, psy, komedie.
Ona: kreatywna, empatyczna, marzycielska.
Ja: analityczny, rzeczowy, osadzony w faktach.
Zero wspólnych pasji.
Zero wspólnych zainteresowań.
Nie śmieszą nas te same rolki na Instagramie.
Każdy terapeuta ze śniadaniowej telewizji wystawiłby naszemu małżeństwu akt zgonu. Znajomi pewnie się zastanawiają, kiedy ogłoszę rozwód.

I kiedy wieczorem opowiada mi o rzeczach, które kompletnie mnie nie interesują, słucham jej z przyjemnością, której nie tłumaczy żaden poradnik.
Bo przez te 20 lat zrozumiałem coś, co przeczy wszystkiemu, co wciskają nam media.
Wspólne pasje to nie budulec związku. To dekoracja. Ludzie po latach idą różnymi drogami, w różnym tempie i to nie jest awaria. Tak wygląda życie.
Prawdziwy budulec jest inny. Chcesz dla drugiej osoby lepiej niż dla siebie. Jej potrzeby stawiasz nad swoje. Wolisz dawać, niż brać. Jeśli tego nie ma, nie uratują was nawet identyczne playlisty.
Więc jeśli twoja druga połówka to twoje przeciwieństwo, przestań to naprawiać. Może właśnie tam mieszka wasz sekret.
Nie musicie kochać tych samych rzeczy.
Wystarczą te same wartości, ten sam kierunek, szacunek do różnic i troska o drugą połowę większa niż o siebie.
I na koniec coś, co zrozumiałem dopiero niedawno...
Przez 20 lat moja żona każdego dnia miała powody, żeby wybrać inaczej. Innego człowieka, inne życie, inny świat; bliższy jej gór niż mojego betonu.
Mimo to każdego dnia wybierała to samo... mnie.
Miłość to nie jest coś, co się czuje. To coś, co się codziennie wybiera.
Od 21 lat jestem czyimś wyborem i jestem z tego naprawdę dumny...
