Wonder if @MartinSLewis knows what to do here? An artist we work with hired a car this weekend from #Greenmotion. On pickup they demanded a deposit so large they had to use a different credit card than the one booked on. For this privilege, they charged them an additional £160
If you’re a fan of the original 1973 #thewickerman #wickerman movie and its seminal soundtrack played by folk group MAGNET, you might want to know they’ve recorded an album 50 years later, after a life in folk music. Joined by new member Matt Deighton! It’s a stunner!
We’re helping them crowdfund with fans of the movie, and fans of great, authentic folk music. You can donate and grab perks here! crowdfunder.co.uk/p/ballad-b…

@KarouselMusic An absolute pleasure to be included on the winning team @KarouselMusic best pop quiz in town last night in Londons glittering West End. I was the old head on the table of talent - musicians, singers, artists & engineers.
Really disappointing that some friends requested the 16-1 favourite for Xmas number 1 A Cold December by @iamchrissimmons today and @BBCRadio2 wouldn’t play it because it ‘wasn’t in the system’. Despite being out on every store and streaming service on Earth. It’s a closed shop.
Our latest release on 🏴☠️Buried Treasure🏴☠️is out today. 15 years since it was finished, 20 since it was written. This industry and dsp’s tend to obsess with ‘new’ but music is eternal and buried treasure in for shining a light on artists with great, forgotten records
Dear @edsheeran , being a top geezer, would you lend a hand to your fellow red headed songwriter and our pal @iamchrissimmons - he’s 16-1 for Xmas number 1 raising money for @AtaLosscharity 100% independent and still going for it @ 40+. Most of all, gorgeous song! Game changer 🙏🏻

The music industry is built by freelancers.
The Musicians' Census shows 72% of musicians are self-employed, highlighting the challenges creatives face.
At Help Musicians and Music Minds Matter, we're working to ensure musicians thrive in a challenging industry.
Today we've published the Cultural Freelancers Study conducted by @Uni_of_Essex
The aim of this study was for us to develop a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by freelancers across artforms we support

"I was talking to David Attenborough about the importance of music. He said there’s quite a lot of evidence which points to the fact that man could sing before he could speak. That’s how primary this is."
