Here's everything you can use as a starting or growing VTuber on a limited budget for the non tech side. Includes channels to look at, strategists that put out free content, some random tips and tricks over the many years of questions I field on and off + some notes at the end π§΅
This was done at Offkai Gen 2 where Michael Winslow was a guest and a few segments/shows were produced specifically to be test ran or special episodes. But it was a bit too ahead of its time unfortunately. Another example is "That's My Streamer" with Jabroni Mike.
And I implore people to not hold themselves to these impossible standards "how do they get things and not me?" Because there's a ton of invisible support you don't see that you may never get access to, not because you aren't worthy, but because people have invisible advantages.
- indies who happen to be in/around larger creators, who will advise or refer said indies to their OWN carefully currated backend staff
- people who will refer indies to outside of VTuber industry staffing because they aren't native to this space, but are generally well connected
Dirty Secret?
Those who are getting that level of support are in one of the following camps :
- ex corpos who know backend staff or people they've ran into over the years willing to advise for free
- people sympathetic to ex corpos, wanting to "save people" & willing to jump in
Twitter will kill reach, but for no particular reason at all, I want to call attention to this interview that Sugar aka the girl in the GGEZ video did (there's a part 2 on the same channel). Incredibly pertinent in current VTuber conversation.
