📍Pržno, Montenegro -- At the #Berlin Process Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, I reaffirmed Albania’s unwavering commitment to a more secure, competitive, and interconnected Western Balkans. The security of the Western Balkans and the security of Europe are inseparable. In an increasingly complex geopolitical environment, the answer to our shared challenges lies in stronger cooperation, greater unity, and a more resilient Europe. And for us, it has a name: #enlargement. Not as a favour or a reward, but as a merit-based process anchored in meaningful and impactful reforms, while being also a strategic investment for Europe’s security, stability, and long-term competitiveness. One of the most important lessons of the Berlin Process is that #European integration begins at home, long before accession. It is advanced through practical cooperation, mobility and people-to-people contacts, mutual recognition of diplomas, connectivity, and the Common Regional Market, otherwise, tangible achievements that improve citizens’ lives, deepen regional ties, and bring our societies ever closer to the European Union. For Albania, the question is no longer whether the Western Balkans belong in the European Union. That question was answered in Thessaloniki twenty-three years ago. The real question today is whether we all together have the courage, determination, and political will to fulfil Europe’s promise and complete the last part of the unification of our continent. We owe the next generation more than another promise of European perspective. We also exchanged views on the challenges and opportunities ahead, and on the value of continued close coordination between #Albania and the UK in support of a more stable, secure and European Western Balkans. Our partnership with the UK remains an important part of Albania’s engagement in the region and beyond.

📍 New York -- More than two decades after its creation, the #AdriaticCharter remains a valuable pillar of regional security and Euro-Atlantic cooperation. At the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the #AdriaticCharter, organized today under the chairmanship of #Croatia, I highlighted that security today extends far beyond conventional threats. To meet today’s challenges, from #cyber threats and energy security to Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI), we must continue strengthening the Charter’s relevance and effectiveness, just as we must deepen and broaden regional cooperation as a whole. Yet security in the Western Balkans requires more than resilience. It also requires inclusion. Lasting stability can only be achieved when all countries and societies in the region are fully integrated into the frameworks of cooperation, security, and shared responsibility that underpin our common future. In this respect, #Kosovo’s membership application has been pending for too long. 📍New York -- Important briefing at the Board of Peace, together with the National Committee for the Administration of #Gaza and the Office of the High Representative, focused on ongoing and planned efforts to address one of the most pressing and complex international crises of our time. The multifaceted international efforts seeks to respond to immediate humanitarian needs while laying the foundations for lasting security, stability, economic recovery, and sustainable development in Gaza. #Albania is actively supporting these efforts, including through its contribution to the International Stabilization Force (#ISF), in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025) and President Trump’s 20-point plan. We remain committed to working closely with our partners to translate these commitments into timely and tangible improvements in the lives of the people of Gaza, helping create the conditions for a more secure, stable, and prosperous future for all.

📍New York -- A pleasure to meet with Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, for a timely and substantive exchange. Our discussions focused on the situation and current dynamics in the #WesternBalkans, the challenges facing the region, and the importance of continued close coordination in support of peace, stability and security. 📍New York -- A pleasure to meet with Joe Wilson @RepJoeWilson, United States Representative for South Carolina, senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, as well as a longstanding friend of #Albania and the Albanian people. We had a very useful discussion on Albania’s continued path of reforms, with particular emphasis on the country’s unprecedented justice reform, a transformative process that has become a cornerstone of our democratic consolidation. We also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and underscored the importance of strengthening the rule of law, democratic institutions, and good governance as essential foundations for sustainable progress, stability, and prosperity, as well as core pillars of Albania’s EU #accession process. I thanked Congressman Wilson for his contribution in strengthening the close partnership between our two countries. 📍New York -- On the margins of #UNGA81, I was pleased to meet with H.E. Jeyhun Bayramov @Bayramov_Jeyhun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. 🇦🇱🇦🇿 Our discussion reaffirmed the excellent relations between #Albania and #Azerbaijan and our shared commitment to further strengthening political dialogue, economic cooperation and people-to-people ties. Reflecting the growing depth and maturity of our partnership, we expressed our determination to further advance our relations, building on the strong foundations already established between our two countries. We reviewed progress across a number of areas of mutual interest, particularly in energy, the economy, connectivity and tourism, and highlighted the significant potential to further expand cooperation in all sectors that contribute to economic growth, #energy security and regional interconnectivity. We exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the current dynamics between Azerbaijan and #Armenia, reaffirming our support for dialogue, international law and diplomacy as essential instruments for promoting peace, stability and sustainable development.

📍New York – An insightful meeting with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk @volker_turk. I congratulated the High Commissioner on the renewal of his mandate and reaffirmed Albania’s steadfast support for an independent, effective and adequately resourced Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. We exchanged views on the global human rights agenda and #Albania’s longstanding cooperation with #OHCHR, including its engagement with UN human rights mechanisms and organs, especially our active role as a member of Human Rights Council. I reaffirmed Albania’s unwavering dedication to the promotion and protection of human rights, human dignity and fundamental freedoms, as well as to a credible, effective and rules-based multilateral system capable of addressing today’s complex global challenges. We also discussed the Global Alliance for Human Rights, underlining the importance of stronger international cooperation and ensuring that human rights remain at the heart of the United Nations’ work.

📍New York -- At the meeting of the Rome #Coalition on Fertilisers and Food Access, co-chaired by #Italy and #Croatia, I highlighted that food security has become a matter of security, resilience and connectivity. Recent disruptions affecting key maritime corridors, from the Strait of #Hormuz to the Red Sea and the Black Sea, have once again demonstrated the close link between security, global trade and food systems. These developments have far-reaching consequences, threatening supply chains, fertiliser availability, agricultural production and, ultimately, consumers around the world. For #Albania, as a country deeply integrated into regional and international markets, the security of maritime routes, freedom of navigation and open trade corridors are of fundamental importance. This is why we believe the Rome Coalition has an increasingly important role to play, not only in responding to crises, but also in strengthening collective preparedness, resilience and long-term food security. In an interconnected world, #food security cannot be separated from economic security. The global economy, and our shared prosperity, depend on secure routes, reliable supplies and resilient food systems.

📍New York -- Regional cooperation is no longer simply a matter of good neighbourly relations; it is a strategic necessity. I was pleased to take part in the joint #CEI and #SEECP meeting organised under the chairmanship of Romania. In a world shaped by growing uncertainty, war, hybrid threats, cyber-attacks and economic pressures, our response must be clear: more cooperation, not fragmentation; more dialogue, not confrontation; and more practical action, not merely political declarations. For #Albania, regional cooperation remains a cornerstone of our foreign policy and a strategic investment in the peace, security, resilience and prosperity of the #WesternBalkans and Europe as a whole. #Regional cooperation and EU accession are mutually reinforcing: stronger regional ties help advance the European perspective, while the prospect of EU membership provides a powerful impetus for cooperation, reform and connectivity. 📍New York -- In the capacity of co-founder of the Group of Friends on #Accountability following Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, we partcipated in a High Level Side Event on accountabiity for Ukrainian children. #Albania remains steadfast in defending justice, upholding international law and supporting victims. Four and a half years into #Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, accountability remains not only a legal imperative but also a moral and political necessity. The unlawful deportations and forcible transfers to Russia of #Ukrainian children from occupied territories represents an assault not only on individual children but on the future of an entire nation. Efforts to reshape identities, sever cultural and family ties, and undermine the fundamental rights of the child are wrong, reprehensible, legally and morally. Accountability is not an obstacle to peace. It delivers justice, establishes the truth, deters future violations and makes peace durable. #UNGA81 #Ukraine #Accountability

📍New York -- Gjatë Javës së Nivelit të Lartë në kuadër të #UNGA81, Shqipëria nënshkroi Deklaratën e Përbashkët për Partneritetin mbi Mundësitë e Inteligjencës Artificiale, duke iu bashkuar Shteteve të Bashkuara, partnerëve evropianë dhe një sërë vendesh të tjera në angazhimin për ta vënë inteligjencën artificiale në shërbim të mirëqenies dhe sigurisë ekonomike.
