In all this commentary about the results and who/what to blame, the one thing I don’t see anyone really grappling with is the fact that Trump has said repeatedly, for months, that he knows the “Iran” “war” is unpopular with voters. In fact, he was probably the first person to say it explicitly after the votes started being reported. He had a million opportunities to change course, and he consciously refused. It’s now abundantly clear it was more important to him than Republicans winning in the midterms. In fact, he immediately directed his fire at 1) candidate quality, 2) Fox News, and 3) RINOs (Greg Abbott). Many more thoughts to come in the next few days, but I’ve seen a lot of my fellow patriots who have reasserted their loyalty to our President while seemingly not connecting these dots, so needed to say something now.
