Trump in China is just the Spanakopita #VentureBros episode
President Trump and President Xi Jinping inspect assembled troops during an arrival ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, May 2026.

Police investigations into police killings are usually a black box But @michaelhayes & I found how NYPD investigated itself after an officer killed a man, Kawaski Trawick, who was home alone We got audio interviews w/ the officers Listen as the blue wall of silence is built 👇🏻

she once ranked Syrian refugees by hotness for a white nationalist's website
Props to @kaitlancollins who was in an impossible position but did a heroic job of fact-checking Trump throughout the town hall. No easy task given how many factually untrue things he said in such a short time. Collins was a true pro and showed what a stellar journalist she is.

Here's a map of violent crime in Chicago over the last five years (left) and a map of mayoral election results by precint (right). The areas hit hardest by violence voted for Brandon Johnson, who campaigned hard on alternatives to policing, instead of tough-on-crime Paul Vallas.

Austin police officers arrested a deaf, elderly woman at ABIA for trespassing, but she just misunderstood instructions from a ticket clerk. Because she’s elderly and deaf. She spent 3 nights in the Travis County Jail, where a jailer broke her arm. She wasn’t taken to the ER.

The criminal legal system reinforces race and class inequalities by design.
An emerging narrative from the right is that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg shouldn’t be wasting his time prosecuting a wealthy politician abusing his power to influence an election bc there are so many poor people who need to be prosecuted instead for crimes of poverty & desperation.

Here is the final update to this post. After a road rage incident, this Pawtucket off-duty unmarked cop shot a teen driver as he was trying to get away from the angry man with a gun.. He was found not guilty of all 7 charges.. somehow.

While we’re distracted by pronouns, UFOs, & Woke Jesus, it’s important to remember that over 100,000 gallons of burning vinyl chloride is destroying the air, water, soil, & living creatures of Palestine, Ohio. This is one of the biggest ecological disasters in American history.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This event is unfolding in East Palestine, a town in northeastern Ohio, not the town of Palestine, in western Ohio. They are nearly 4.5 hours away from each other by car. cnn.com/2023/02/06/us/…

I was told handing over public education to Bill Gates and the Walton family, gutting teachers’ unions, and creating an exotic racist web of “accountability” metrics was how you reduced childhood poverty. It turns out you can do it by simply…giving poor people money. Big if true
new paper: the 2021 Child Tax Credit — which from July to Dec 2021 gave qualifying families up to $3,600 per child in auto monthly payments — not only appeared to “reduced child poverty by half” it also notably “improved the mental health of adults in the lowest-income families.”

"Never let anyone take you to the assassination coordinates." - Det. J. J. Bittenbinder

Amateur assassin, new to Twitter. Is there really a way to get someone's "assassination coordinates"? And is that like, their location or the ideal spot?

Phew, cops are famously great evaluators of "alternative force options"
Replying to @WillJarrettData
The policy passed with an amendment that changes the language around when police can deploy robots. The new language requires the police to evaluate "alternative force options or de-escalation tactics" before using robots with lethal force.

Railroad workers grind themselves to the bone for this country as their labor produces billions for Wall St. They demand the basic dignity of paid sick days. I stand with them. If Congress intervenes, it should be to have workers’ backs and secure their demands in legislation.
Replying to @POTUS46Archive
At this critical moment for our economy, in the holiday season, we cannot hurl the U.S. into a devastating rail freight shutdown. Congress should get this bill to my desk as soon as possible so we can avoid disruption.
