Un momento incómodo pasaron el Presidente, Daniel Noboa y el Secretario de Pueblos, Marco Guatemal en #Otavalo. El responsable de la ceremonia le dijo de frente al mandatario "Quiero que entienda que no estamos en época de esclavitud, que el Estado no es una hacienda".
La @CONAIE_Ecuador se refirió a este acto en un comunicado, mencionando lo siguiente: "Entregar el bastón de mando a Daniel Noboa Azin, por intereses políticos y personales, es un acto de desprecio y traición a la histórica lucha de nuestros pueblos. Este acto no refleja el apoyo de ninguna de nuestras estructuras organizativas al gobierno autoritario, fascista y represor de Noboa"
Aunque la ceremonia fué organizada por el Secretario de Pueblos, las organizaciones rechazaron el acto de la entrega del Bastón de Mando.
