GLASGOW 2026 Team Uganda Shines Bright As Games Open 🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬 Team Uganda added a great bit of colour to a truly spectacular opening ceremony of the 2026 Commonwealth Games at the Ovo Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland last night, the first to ever be held indoors. The flag-waving Ugandans caught the eye in their beautiful traditional ceremonial wear as they marched on a night graced by His Majesty King Charles, the king of the United Kingdom. Magnificent in a Scottish kilt, Uganda's Dr Don Rukare, the current President of Commonwealth Sport, welcomed the Commonwealth Community. That community from all around the world included a Uganda government delegation led by the Minister of State for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang, as the smartly clad Team Uganda joined 73 other nations in the customary march that highlighted the opening night. Let the Games begin!
