You can now enable Claude to use your computer to complete tasks. It opens your apps, navigates your browser, fills in spreadsheets—anything you'd do sitting at your desk. Research preview in Claude Cowork and Claude Code, macOS only.

⁣You ever felt bad about resting or relaxing? I feel like I have so much I want to do sometimes that I don’t want to chill out for a minute. ⠀ I think I’m finally learning to enjoy the rest/relaxation as part of the process now. 💫

When a fellow coder “disappears” for a week, and then pops back up with a super lengthy pull request for code review 😫😂 #dontdoit

14 yrs ago this week, jQuery (pre 1.0) was introduced and presented by @jeresig in a talk the same weekend @ BarCampNYC: Jan 14th 2006. Celebrating a champagne birthday 🎉! We had a quick chat about it and wanted to share deets . A short thread ⬇

This is a discussion of the second 5000 users in software development.
Do "data structures & algorithms" matter much in the real job?

I don’t think most people truly understand the value of simply documenting the process towards a goal. 🎯

People want “followers” before they do/share anything worth following. One approach is just to forget having “followers”, and just simply document/share your journey with like-minded people.

Learning to code can be overwhelming because there are so many abstractions now (i.e. frameworks on top of languages, frameworks on frameworks, convenience libraries). Try to tackle the basics at least a little before trying the abstractions; they'll then make more sense later.

One thing that’s annoying about being a software engineer is that you’re surrounded by people who have strong opinions about the stupidest possible stuff that couldn’t possibly ever matter even a little bit. This is your whole career. It’s just arguments like this one over and over and over and over again and they literally never matter. The years roll into decades and nobody ever stops talking about this stuff and it didn’t matter in 1980 and it didn’t matter in 1990 and it didn’t matter in 2010 and it doesn’t matter today.

My mother kept beating me in scrabble & bragging so I made a website that allows you to recreate the board state & tell it what tiles you have to calculate the most optimal move each turn. 🤣

In the age of AI, I feel like LeetCode interviews are even less relevant now than they were before, but you know what style of interview is probably more important? System design.

👇🏽 it's also a sign that the scope is too big Smaller scope -> better requirements
If you're writing code for a feature that seems overly complex and difficult to simplify, one reason could be that there are gaps or logical issues with the requirements. A code/implementation issue is sometimes actually a sign of an inherent requirements issue.
