Andrea’s first day on the course after spending eight weeks learning and practising in the school having first held a club back in May. This swing honestly wouldn’t look out of place at Walton Heath this weekend. Retweets welcome! 👏🏌️♂️
A dream turned into reality. My brand-new car, paid in full, is proof that vision and consistency pay off. Huge thanks to my mentor @ZinahCapital for the guidance and support along the way.
As it was our Twitter anniversary on this week I’ve been going through the timeline. What I’ve just reposted is, I think, most popular by far! 😂🏌️♂️
Lovely to see our old friend George in the school today. George came to the school in 2004 to prepare for his role in Disney’s The Greatest Game Ever Played. The true, remarkable story of the 1913 U S Open.. @Gasprey
Lovely to see our old friend Marian back in the school today. Marian built her swing in the school during the early to mid 70s. Over 50 years later and her swiñg is looking as simple and repeatable as ever…
Great performance from Charley Hull in a thrilling US Open. Although some may think her swing looks a little quick and unconventional her fundamentals are very strong and hit every angle. Charley’s early teacher was Lee Scarbow who came to the school in the early 80s as a young 14-year-old aspiring to be a Golf professional. Can well remember his dad bringing him along and being put through his paces with press ups and wrist strengthening exercises. Just as we had a few years beforehand!
Last takeaway drill for the moment. This time taking you all the way through to the top of the backswing. Hopefully you’ve found this little series of clips very useful and have helped to unlock a few mysteries. Just a couple of takeaway drills to go now. Hopefully our little series of clips has made the swing’s initial movement a little clearer and has decoded a few mysteries….
It is not only the recreational golfer that is affected by the twist and roll of the hands on the takeaway. Good low handicap players can also slip into this swing wrecking movement. Here Phil assists 4 handicap Dan who gets away with it with his irons but hits his driver all over the place. The driver will always catch you out!
Continuing on from last week’s takeaway videos. Here’s a time proven very very simple way to check your hip height position on the backswing…
He is a great drill to help you eliminate the cursed twist and roll of the hands in the takeaway. A problem
suffered by 90% of struggling golfers….
Yesterday we showed you how 9 out of 10 recreational golfers destroy the swing plane within the first movement of the takeaway. Here’s a very simple, highly effective drill you can practice anytime and anywhere without even needing a club!
95% of recreational golfers destroy the swing plane within the very first movement of the takeaway. We highlighted this in our 2004 book The Swing Factory. Sadly, 22 years later, nothing has changed. Over the next few weeks we’ll be posting regular clips on how to restructure and build a sound consistent takeaway…
Yesterday we posted a clip showing how the hands should be applied to the club, for some a little trickier than you may think. Illustrations are a thing of the past but we think you can still learn a lot from old-fashioned pencil images. This is how we outlined the right hand grip in our 2004 best selling book The Swing Factory…
