Lately Iโve heard a lot of parents say, โThat coach took my kidโs confidence.โ
Hereโs my perspective: no one should be able to take your confidence. Confidence comes from the work you put in when nobody is watching. Real ones understand that.
A coach canโt give you confidence, and they shouldnโt be able to take it away. What a coach gives you is trustโtrust that youโll be consistent, prepared, and ready when your opportunity comes.
If youโre putting in the work every day, your confidence should already be there. Then itโs your job to show coaches they can trust you by competing, staying consistent, and believing in your abilities.
Confidence is earned in the gym. Trust is earned with your actions.

Celebrate the victory.
Donโt become satisfied by it.
One emotional win cannot become the destination for a team with bigger goals.
Enjoy the moment.
Then raise the standard for what comes next.
