There are people who haven't read a book since The Outsiders in their 7th grade reading class and have the nerve to look at me in disgust when I tell them I read mostly romance as if binge watching 8,000 episodes of Law & Order in their free time makes them superior.

This morning I'm preaching on Sodom and Gomorrah, because it is a story that continues to be weaponized against LGBTQ+ folks with devastating consequences.
The way we interpret this story, as well as the handful of other verses in Scripture that seemingly address LGBTQ+ people, is a matter of life and death. Negative religious beliefs about homosexuality in the home are associated with double the risk of suicide.
It’s also a matter of the church missing out on the unique ways in which queer people bear God’s image and express the fruit of the Spirit.
We need to get this right, y’all. Or more to the point, we have gotten it wrong for so long that we need to make it right.

For two decades, Julian Swartz, a top Scientology ethics official has played a pivotal role in covering up crimes of Scientologists. This includes the sex crimes of Danny Masterson.
But Julian's photo has never been published before. But now, for the first time, I am publishing his photo in a piece I've co-authored with my friend @yashar.
Meet Scientology's obstructor-in-chief. A man who has covered up many crimes involving sexual violence including the molestation of young children.
