A whistleblower revealed that Brazil's far-right Bolsonaro family dynasty met with Meta to discuss US plans to interfere in Brazil's election, to prevent Lula from winning.
Lula's Facebook and Instagram accounts were censored a few days before the first round of the presidential election.
This had a huge impact on the election, because Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, which are all owned by Meta, are the most popular apps in Brazil, and are hugely influential all across Latin America. (Jair Bolsonaro's son Flávio was declared the winner of the first round of the vote, by a narrow margin.)
Meta later admitted that Lula's accounts had been restricted, but it claimed that this was supposedly due to a "technical error"...
The whistleblower who disclosed this is Nadia Beller, a Bolivian journalist who was almost killed by hitmen hired by Fernando Cerimedo, a far-right Argentine political operative who oversees election interference, bots, and disinformation campaigns.
Cerimedo is closely linked to the US government and has worked for pretty much every right-wing leader in Latin America. He was photographed with Donald Trump Jr. and members of the Bolsonaro family, and he received an award at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida a few months before he was arrested for the failed assassination attempt against Beller, his pregnant ex-girlfriend.

Dr. Eugeniusz Łazowski, a courageous Polish physician who saved thousands of lives during WWII. He created the illusion of an epidemic of a deadly disease, playing on the deep fears of the Nazis. And his trickery saved 8,000 Polish Jews at the height of the Holocaust...
During World War II, a young Polish doctor named Eugeniusz Łazowski saved all these innocent lives without firing a single bullet. He did it by creating a fake epidemic that terrified the German army so much that they refused to enter his area.
When the Nazis occupied Poland, they brought destruction and fear everywhere they went. However, there was one thing the German soldiers feared even more than their enemies, and that was contagious disease. Typhus was a deadly sickness that had killed millions of people during World War I, and the Nazis were terrified of catching it. Whenever doctors reported a typhus outbreak in a village, the military immediately declared the whole area a quarantine zone. They stopped entering the villages, halted all roundups, and suspended deportations to concentration camps.
Dr. Łazowski realized he could use this deep fear against the occupiers.
Working alongside his colleague, Dr. Stanisław Matulewicz, he discovered a clever medical trick. They found that injecting patients with a harmless bacterium called Proteus OX19 would cause a specific immune reaction.
When blood samples were tested with the standard medical kits used by the Germans, the result showed up as positive for typhus. The person receiving the injection was completely healthy and felt fine, but on paper, they appeared to be suffering from a deadly, highly contagious fever.
The two doctors started their secret operation in 1941. They carefully injected non-Jewish Polish residents in and around the town of Rozwadów..They were extremely cautious not to raise suspicion by creating too many cases at once.
Instead, they simulated a natural spread of the disease, carefully creating fake medical records and tracking simulated outbreaks across neighboring villages. The strategy worked better than anyone could have hoped.
When German medical authorities tested the blood samples sent to their labs, every test came back positive.
Panic spread through the German high command.
Believing that a dangerous outbreak was raging through the region, they officially quarantined the entire area.
SS soldiers and military patrols stopped coming into the villages.
The entire local community secretly joined the act to keep the lie believable.
When German officials looked from a distance, children fake-coughed and adults pretended to be weak and bedridden.
Everyone understood that if the Nazis discovered the truth, every single resident would be executed immediately.

Terrified of catching the disease, the visiting German doctors performed only quick, superficial checks from a distance and left as fast as they could.
For three years, more than 8,000 Jewish and non-Jewish residents lived safely under the protection of a disease that did not actually exist.
In 1944, as the Soviet army advanced, the German troops retreated completely without ever learning the truth.
After the war, Dr. Łazowski moved to the United States and became a university professor. He stayed quiet about his actions for decades.
When people later asked him about his incredible courage, he remained humble.

Kentucky State Police say the 62-year-old—who posed with a slaughtered pig in vehicle like something out of a horror movie—was arrested and charged with s*xual abuse of a minor under 12.
His arrest came from the same investigation that led KSP to charge 32-year-old Wesley Wright of Morgantown with two counts of first-degree r*pe of a child under 12 back in August.
Wesley was already in the Daviess County Detention Center on unrelated charges. Police haven’t clarified how, or if, the two men who share the same last name are connected, and the investigation is ongoing.

A 12 year old boy walks into my office having already seen a psychiatrist, an allergist, a lung doctor, maybe a GI doctor. Seven different drugs by age 12. Kicked out of kindergarten for being disruptive. Diagnosed with ADHD and put on stimulant medication for years.

Bessent told the committee Venezuela's oil money is "one of the largest assets ever to go on the US balance sheet."
The executive order the president signed on January 9 states that the money is "property of the Government of Venezuela," held by the United States "solely in a custodial and governmental capacity." You cannot hold another country's money in custody and call it your asset, because that is the difference between a bank and a thief.
Bessent said he "won't give out" the total. I found it in 15 minutes on Treasury's own daily cash statement, the one he wants to call a balance sheet when it flatters him. It is public record. So it is hard for me to believe he can't tell Congress how much.
So let me help him and Congress out. Attached is the Daily Treasury Statement for February 5, 2026, the month the Venezuelan money left Qatar. The State Department, which runs the fund, deposited $514 million in a single day. The prior two-year high for that line was $54 million. Since January it has taken in $14.5 billion against a normal year of $3.4 billion, roughly $11 billion more than it should have. About $3.5 billion has been documented going back to Venezuela. That leaves about $7.5 billion nobody has accounted for.
SO, we took a country's primary revenue stream at gunpoint, routed it through a bank in Qatar, then a Citibank account, handed the sales to two Swiss traders with federal bribery cases, put the Pentagon in business with a man the Justice Department once named in a $1.2 billion PDVSA laundering case, and declared the whole thing immune from American courts by decree. Okay....

(1) Trafigura is the Swiss trading house that sells the oil and now carries Venezuela's gold to US refineries too. In March 2024 it pleaded guilty in a Miami federal court to bribing Brazilian officials and paid $126 million. That is a felony conviction less than two years old, and it was handed a no-bid contract to market another country's oil "at the request of the U.S. government."
(2) Vitol, the other trader, paid $135 million in 2020 under a deferred prosecution agreement for bribery in three countries. One of Vitol's senior traders gave $5 million to the president's super PAC, then stood in the White House on January 9 and told Trump that the "influence you have over the Venezuelans" would make sure he got what he wanted. Vitol had the first contract five days later.
(3) Alejandro Betancourt is the Venezuelan businessman the Pentagon just took a 35 percent stake alongside. His earlier company, Derwick Associates, won billions in no-bid power-plant contracts under Chávez. Federal prosecutors in Miami named him as an unindicted co-conspirator in a $1.2 billion scheme to launder PDVSA money. He hired Rudy Giuliani in 2019 to lobby the Justice Department about it. The AP reports that investigation was "paused earlier this year." Spain reopened its own case against him in June. He has never been charged and denies wrongdoing, and he now has the United States military as a business partner under a contract nobody outside the government has read.
(4) And David Rivera, a former congressman and Marco Rubio's old housemate, was convicted on May 1 of acting as an unregistered foreign agent after taking a $50 million contract from Citgo's parent company to lobby for normalizing relations with the Maduro government. Rubio testified at his trial. Rubio's State Department now signs off on every dollar that leaves the Venezuela account.
The president says we "paid for that war many times over" and that "to the victor belong the spoils." The executive order says it isn't our money. Bessent says it's our asset and won't say how big. Meanwhile Venezuela's acting president spent July writing to King Charles begging for gold in a London vault while we sat on eleven billion dollars of her country's oil revenue.

On stage, he does the arithmetic out loud: today is three months and twelve days. Then he delivers a lecture on how not to waste your time.
somebody asked him why he was there at all instead of with his family. he said he had promised he would come, and he was physically able to.
his opening argument is that we are excellent at treating money as a commodity and terrible at treating time as one. ask anyone for their household budget and they will assume you mean money. nobody has ever been asked for their time budget.
so he made his graduate students do a calculation. if you earn $50,000, you probably cost your employer about $100,000 once you count everything around you.
divide that by your hours. now you know what one hour of you costs. it changes what you build, what you buy, and what you refuse.
he ran the same argument on his own students at Carnegie Mellon, where tuition was roughly $30,000 a semester. he told them that if they came to his office to complain about the $60,000 a year, he would throw them out. but if they came in to ask whether this was a good place to spend two years of their life, he would talk all night. you can earn the money back. you cannot earn back the two years.

Love transcends
Left out and rejected by his own herd, this calf found a second chance when a warmhearted woman took him in, and what followed truly touched hearts. Once isolated and unwanted, the little one slowly rebuilt his trust through her patience and care. Over time, the fear of being excluded faded, replaced by a newfound sense of playfulness and belonging.
