It was a whirlwind few days at the Labour Party Conference!
It was great to meet with so many fantastic supporters of our sector and to discuss with so many why our local councils and community voices are so vital in the years ahead.

Great to meet with colleagues from @KeepBritainTidy and @DementiaUK at the Labour Party Conference. Two organisations that do great work with the parish and town council sector.

This is such a nice, thoughtful thing to do and I feel it's more common among the older generation. A totally unprompted, sincere letter encouraging someone.
I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet, but getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She definitely didn't have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for the kind words.

Agree, don’t think he was either, @Jude_Mortimer 🤷♂️
Today's report from the Local Government APPG rightly argues that fiscal devolution must not create a privileged class of strategic authorities. lgiu.org/no-government-can-d…
If every city, town and village is to benefit, parish and town councils—the tier of government closest to communities—must have a credible pathway to greater fiscal autonomy, with powers and funding proportionate to their role.
