If harassment is wrong when it happens to you, it's wrong when it happens to me. If an apology is sufficient for somebody else's injury, explain why your own deserves a different standard.

Pat, saying you won't “dignify” Fred with a response is convenient. It dismisses the criticism without addressing the underlying question. Nobody needs to pretend you never challenged Fat Disgusting Nasty Black Tether. The recordings show that you did. But challenging wrongdoing once does not settle every question about your subsequent choices.

As for JWhat's, you can't dvertise that you don't want a rundown Space, allow a personal confrontation to develop, and then offer an apology without clearly explaining your moderation decisions. And yes, any genuine threats or exposure of private information against you are unacceptable. That principle applies to EVERYBODY! Yet we know it doesn't.

An apology you encouraged was not a resolution I agreed to and please stop treating your age as a substitute for accountability. Being 63 doesn't exempt you from criticism any more than being younger makes somebody's suffering disposable. You have every right to object to being called names. But the rest of us have the same right to demand consistent standards.
