AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺 : Beyoncé is part of the University of Queensland’s 2026 “Introduction to Popular Music Studies” course, which traces more than 70 years of popular music and the forces that transformed it.
The course follows the evolution of popular music from the 1950s through the rise of rock, Motown and global superstars, into hip-hop, Beyoncé, K-pop and today’s streaming era.
Beyond the music itself, students examine how technology, the music industry and wider social and cultural changes have shaped popular music, including its relationship with race, gender and politics.

Jane Doe declaration: More troubles ahead for Buzbee? Buzbee previously announced to the whole world that Jane Doe would be taking a polygraph exam. Jane Doe took that test on December 16, 2024, but Buzbee never revealed the results. Though polygraph test results are inadmissible, if the results were favorable to Buzbee, he would've been touting it on social media and elsewhere. With Jane Doe's waiver of attorney-client privilege and work-product, Buzbee can be questioned in a deposition about the test results. He must also produce documents regarding the tests. This means that it is possible that Buzbee continued with the SDNY litigation even though Buzbee did little vetting before filing and Doe possibly failed a polygraph test after the case was filed. Not looking good for Buzbee in California and New York.

Beyoncé will be a subject of study at Virginia Commonwealth University: "Beyoncé: Music, Race and Fame," a 3-credit course in its Department of Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies.
The course examines the popular music and celebrity industries, Black Twitter, divas and the racial politics of beauty, to build a critical context for Beyoncé, divadom and Black female performance.

As part of its undergraduate A112: Cultures module, the university’s “Art and Power” block examines portraits of Beyoncé and Elizabeth I to explore how art has been used to construct, communicate and challenge power across different periods.
Students look at how portraiture can project individual and political power, placing a contemporary cultural figure like Beyoncé in conversation with one of the most recognisable monarchs in British history.
