Harry should have actually died in the Forbidden Forest.
Not the fake-out death where the Horcrux inside him dies and Harry gets to come back. Harry should’ve stayed dead after willingly sacrificing himself for everyone.
Then Neville kills Nagini, destroying the final Horcrux, and faces Voldemort himself. Neville defeats and kills him, and we finally learn that the prophecy could have referred to Neville just as much as Harry.
It would’ve made Neville’s entire arc hit so much harder. The boy everyone underestimated becomes the one who finishes the war, while Harry’s sacrifice is what made that victory possible.
