This works and the team starts performing. Knocked out of the League Cup Semi on away goals by Leeds. Humbling of Juventus in the Champs Quarters and an absolute slobbernocker to make the FA Cup final, with sweet revenge over Leeds.
The mixed bag in the opening 10 games has me dipping back into the David market, some heavily over inflated prices, but some solid players I think, none of whom I’ve signed in the past.
Total spend £80m
Total sales £107m
Completed the coaching staff for good measure. No one is talking to anyone that’s not a David at our club
I rule out going for any David’s in their surname, spurning a few big options (Edgar)
- Mixed bag at the 10 game mark
- Newcastle love a premier league thriller
- The David GK’s are not cutting it. Conceding too many. I’m on the hunt and have had £15m (!!!) rejected for James
Charity shield doesn’t start well, but we have a few outstanding offers for some key Dave’s
Transfers in so far: £37m
Out: £85m
- Both my keepers are just simply called David. One is rubbish (damn you for rejecting me Seaman)
- Di Michele transfer record so far (£8.25m)
Along with Beckham I’m keeping David May and David Jones (no idea). There are several Dave’s I have my eye on, but despite accepted bids I’ve been flat out rejected by some notable ones…
So it begins. Davechester United.
- Take over Man U
- Sell the entire squad except any Dave’s (or equivalent)
- Only sign players called Dave (David, Davide etc acceptable)
- Beckham as the talisman
- One season only, how will I do
My York City save isn’t inspiring me. I need a random challenge. Thinking start with United, sell the squad, make Becks the face of Dave’s, David’s and Davide’s and see how I get on with a team of everyone with the same first name. Has it been done? Who really cares? Thoughts?
Of my youngsters Figueroa and Alexandre performed well but Vázquez was brilliant in CM. Stamina an issue, but improving, hoping he can be the pivot with Lunt next season, eventually taking his throne🤴
