Legit question, what happens if we all just decide to leave spotlight at the same time. Like a protest situ xox
When are we all going to finally take a stand against @SpotlightUK and cancel our memberships? Every couple of months there is a new outrage, it blows over and then NOTHING CHANGES.
Without us they are nothing - yet we have given them all the power.

“Equity is a trade union, and ensuring fair access to good work for our membership is a core part of our role.
The costs of casting should no longer be borne by our members; we will do all we can to reduce and end subscriptions to casting directories.
This tax on hope should end.”

🔈 A message for Equity members
We share the frustration of many members at new @SpotlightUK tiered membership.
We recommend no @EquityUK member takes out ‘Premier membership’ until we understand the reasons for the change, & Council has discussed casting policy this November.

Ending the rehearsal day with the “Hygge” number and in absolute tear inducing hysterical laughter with @JustJem has been the highlight of my @frozenlondon tenure so far.
I needed the joy today. And these wonderful people made it happen. 💙

Hey, just some rough figures for theatre folk. Top tier theatre equity minimum wage for performers in 2012 was about £607. Today it is about £712. That is a 16% increase over a decade. For perspective, inflation has been roughly 2.76% per year since 2012, that’s 31.25% in total.
