🚨 CHICAGO CTA JANITOR STABBED TO DEATH AT DAMEN GREEN LINE STATION — SUSPECT STILL SOUGHT Chicago has another deadly public-safety incident, and a CTA worker is dead. On Thursday, October 8, 2026, 41-year-old Julian Mobley, a CTA janitor who had worked for the agency since 2018, was fatally stabbed at the Damen Green Line station on Chicago’s West Side. According to reports, the incident began when a passenger allegedly sprayed a CTA employee with mace during a dispute. Mobley reportedly intervened to help his coworker. The confrontation escalated, and Mobley was stabbed in the neck. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He leaves behind his wife of 20 years and two children, ages 14 and 18 months. 💔 A husband, a father and a public employee went to work and never came home. 🚨 HAS THE SUSPECT BEEN CAUGHT? As of Friday morning, October 9, police had not announced an arrest. The suspect reportedly fled west from the station. Police were searching for a man described as approximately 25–35 years old, 5’10” and 150 pounds, reportedly wearing a black Adidas tracksuit, a black hat and white shoes, and carrying a silver-and-black backpack. 💰 Community violence-prevention groups reportedly announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
