Everyone gets all excited for high acuity EM shifts — but low acuity can be just as fun & interesting: nail trephination, corneal FB removal, dog bite partial repair, cat scratch fever, etc (examples from past 2 shifts)

I asked 100 ED doctors what we are experts at. Most notable were how often things like teamwork, compassion, communication, remaining calm and more came up.
While we must be experts in many pathologies, what makes our discipline special is how we act, not just what we know.
The past two weeks a group of 30+ @IUMedSchool incoming MS2s participated in @IUEM_ultrasound Summer POCUS course led by Dr. Herbert. They’re ready to teach their classmates around the state about #POCUS!
