They are wrong. Energy firm regulations say you are free to move within the last fifty days of your fixed tariff. If you are charged they are in breach. In fact even sending you wrong information is arguably a breach as it is a switch deterrent. Is this happening to anyone else too?

My energy tariff ends on Nov 30th but told i can't move penalty free until October 25th. I thought there was a 49 day with British Gas?
