Sam darnold is playing the same way he played last year. He led the league in turnovers but was accidentally winning games and being saved by elite defense and special teams.

Sam Darnold is Sam Darnold. The turnovers have been his thing for his entire football career. He’s not playing well because he’s not the kind of QB who can work clean under heavy pressure. Seattle knew that going in. Yet they allowed their premier run game to just walk out the door in the offseason. The pressure Darnold is under is because they are completely one-dimensional on offense. Darnold isn’t “getting bad.” He’s not functioning well because they pulled him out of his zone of comfort and put him in the exact situation where he is guaranteed to fail. Seahawks fans are blaming Darnold. They should be blaming John Schneider. He’s the one responsible for the current dilemma. And if Mike Macdonald didn’t fight to keep Kenneth Walker around, he’s to blame as well.
