ALT Heinz gets stood up by Roger & by that I mean Heinz exaggerates Roger's height in his flashback. Roger can reach higher shelves... and THIS is what 1D Doof said was the catalyst for his evil path?! If so, this is actually almost as benign as 2D Doof losing his toy train! Of course, everything we know makes 1D Doof's path more understandable, so I think 1D Doof is lying to himself here a bit & Roger very much has a prideful arrogance to him, the way many "beloved by all" politicians are. I do hope Roger either humbles himself or gets held accountable, as he's not necessarily the "morally best" person in the series. Rather, he plays up the aesthetics of one & was given a ton of love at another's expense.
