BREAKING: BURN IT DOWN! Republican Rep. Thomas Massie torches Speaker Johnson after he cowardly sent Congress home early to avoid votes on impeaching Hegseth and exposing Epstein files. Massie is done playing nice with these monsters... "Roughly three weeks ago, the Speaker of the House said, 'let me tell you how stupid Thomas Massie's comment is,'" he said. "An article said that, Johnson says, 'Republicans are here to work and will remain in Washington throughout September, according to the House calendar.' He goes on to say, 'that is a nonsensical statement by someone who is not participating as a full member of the Congress. And it's really sad that he doesn't.' Unquote." "Well, I'm here today to let you know that I'm a full participating member of the House of Representatives," he continued. "In fact, when other people want to go home, I'm here to work! I'm here to get justice for the Epstein victims, the survivors. I am here to get the price of food and fuel down for our constituents. We've got solutions, we just refuse to pass them." On September 1st, Massie announced that he and several other members of Congress had filed a discharge petition to force a vote on an updated second bill to release the full Epstein files. At the time, he said that there were "rumors" that Johnson would "soon recess the House until after the midterm elections… to avoid the vote?!" He has now been fully vindicated. In his fiery House speech, Massie slammed Johnson and his cronies specifically for trying to avoid having to provide "transparency and justice" to Epstein's victims. "I'm the one who most wants to be here those two weeks and they got canceled and I said they would probably cancel them," he continued. "And we were told oh, no, that's a ludicrous idea. Let me tell you how stupid Thomas Massie's comment is. Those were the words of the Speaker. 48 hours later, what did he do? Exactly what I predicted. He cut two weeks off of this calendar!" He then turned his ire on Trump's disgraced Secretary of Defense and his disastrous, failed war with Iran. "On Tuesday, as a fully participating member of Congress, I introduced eight articles of impeachment against Peter Brian Hegseth," Massie said. "Over there, they're leading a little fantasy, they call it the Department of War. You know, you can't rename things without Congress. Hell, you can't even rename a post office without us! You think you can rename the Department of Defense, the Department of War? Give me a break. But enjoy your little fantasy. It's the Department of Defense." Massie stated that Hegseth is the administration official who has "racked up the most illegal and unconstitutional acts." On that point, it's hard to disagree. In addition to the Iran War, Hegseth has overseen the extrajudicial murders of innocent fishermen in the Caribbean and Pacific, smearing them as drug traffickers. He is an unrepentant war criminal. As for Johnson's decision to end the Congressional session early, it's in perfect keeping with his pathological spinelessness. He's a man who insists over and over again that he's not going to do something right up until the moment he does it. Rather than let Congress debate the merits of impeaching Hegseth or releasing the Epstein files, he has decided to run cover for his toxic, pedophile-protecting party.
