Our hearts are with the family, friends, and fellow Soldiers of the Soldier who tragically lost their life during a training incident at Fort Hood. We lift them up in prayer and ask for comfort, strength, and peace during this incredibly difficult time. We also pray for the healing and recovery of the injured Soldier and for all those affected by this tragedy.
Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives forever changed by the attacks on our nation. We honor and mourn those we lost, remember the families affected, and pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call.
We will never forget.

Congratulations to Williamson County Precinct 2 Constable Jeff Anderson and his Command Staff for completing the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association program. The FBI-LEEDA program expands law enforcement leadership through training, education and networking and their completion speaks to the deep commitment these officers have to WilCo’s public safety.
We are blessed to have such dedicated officers protecting our communities in TX-31!
I'm aware of reports that a military helicopter has gone down in Salado Texas's 31st district. While we wait for additional information, our prayers are with any occupants on board. My team and I will continue to monitor.

Missions end, but America's commitment to those who've worn the nation's uniform does not.
Led by @JudgeCarter, the House-passed FY27 MilCon-VA bill supports veteran care, military families, and critical VAMC and base infrastructure.

Texas has lost a trailblazer. I’m deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of my dearest friends, Kay Granger. For decades, she led with grace and a deep love of Texas. Kay was someone whose counsel I valued and character I admired. While we all mourn her passing, I hope everyone also celebrates her remarkable service. Texas is a better place because of Kay’s leadership.
City of Belton employee Ethan Van de Plas was working near Nolan Creek when a woman jumped into the high water. The situation quickly became dangerous, but Ethan sprang into action. He jumped into the rain-swollen creek and pulled her to safety. I recently honored Ethan for his selfless service with a congressional certificate of recognition and an American flag flown over the US Capitol in his honor.
Ethan plans to join the military soon, and I have no doubt he has the bravery and selflessness to succeed. Well done, Ethan!

Erika and I saddened to hear of the passing of American patriot Lindsey Graham. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and staff.

When Joel, a veteran injured in Operation Inherent Resolve, reached out for assistance with his military personnel records and combat awards, we went to work. Within 2 weeks, his records were received and within 3, his awards were ready to be presented to him for outstanding service.
It was a pleasure recognizing Joel for his brave service to the nation. It is because of warriors like Joel that America will celebrate 250 years of freedom and liberty next week.
The passing of Josh Baer is a huge loss for Texas. He was a disruptor, a brilliant innovator, and had immense enthusiasm for helping others succeed. My sincerest condolences to Josh’s family, friends, and the @CapitalFactory team. He will be greatly missed by me and my staff.

In 29 days, we will celebrate the 250th birthday of our exceptional nation, which became the greatest of all because we were the first to declare the self-evident truth that all people are created equal by God.
Not “born equal.” We are “CREATED equal.”
Because God made us all in His image, it means EVERY SINGLE PERSON has inestimable DIGNITY and VALUE—and our value is not related in any way to the color of our skin, what zip code we live in, what our talents are, our health condition, or any other factor. Our value is inherent, because it is given to us by our loving Heavenly Father.
When a culture devolves to the point of depravity where “influencers” can go online and so casually dismiss the deliberate murder of their own precious child, the survival of that culture itself is at risk.
God have mercy on our nation as we pray and work for an end to this evil, for hearts and minds to change, and for a renewed understanding of the self-evident truths and the sanctity of all human life.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” (Jeremiah 1:5)
This week, my wife and I made the very difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy due to Trisomy 21.
The choice was not made lightly. We really appreciate all of the personal stories that you guys shared with us, especially the unconditional support we received from fans with no matter what we decided.
I know some of you may be very disappointed to hear this news. We are devastated. This has been extremely traumatic for both of us, especially Ashley.
She underwent the procedure earlier this week and is on the mend. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, but emotionally we are drained.
Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome, is caused by an extra chromosome. It is caused by an error in cell division, like a glitch. The odds of a baby having it is 1 in 1000.
When I first confronted this news, I was shocked but optimistic. If they’re a little slow intellectually, then we’ll make it work. I signed on to be a parent, come what may…but I just didn’t fully understand what Down Syndrome entailed.
Once we made it public, it became clear that MOST people don’t know what Down Syndrome entails (and no, it’s not the same as Autism):
50% of babies with DS have heart defects. 75% will have hearing challenges. Over 50% will have vision problems. Impaired immune function, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, delayed physical development, poor muscle tone, structural issues with face, decreased lifespan, etc…Sadly, the list is long, feel free to look it up…Down Syndome isn’t a “blessing”, it is objectively shitty from a health perspective.
I didn’t realize just how rough it is for the child, let alone the family…more often than not, they would be fully dependent on others for the rest of their life.
The miscarriage risk is also close to 50%, which made matters worse…they may never see the light of day and it puts Ashley further at risk.
We spoke with doctors, friends, family and genetic counselors and learned that up to 90% of women terminate their pregnancy after learning the baby has Trisomy 21.
This was WAY higher than I expected, I thought it would be lower given that I hear so many say they kept or would keep the baby. I believe that’s because most terminations happen privately, it feels shameful. A lot of judgment being cast.
You never think you’d be in this type of situation until it happens to you and then things change.
To all of my fans who have weighed in on this topic who have Autism, Down Syndrome or any other conditions…we appreciate you. You matter a lot and we’re glad you’re here. I commend you and your families for having the strength and courage to push forward.
As for us, we made a difficult decision that we believe in the long-run will be beneficial for our family. Thankfully, we had a choice.
It will take a little time to move on, but we are excited to try again in the future and hopefully have a better outcome.
Love you guys & thank you for understanding. ❤️
Every year, I nominate incredible young people to America’s military academies. It’s a grueling process that requires strong academics, extracurricular participation, grit, and determination. I was pleased to send off our TX-31 class of 2030 appointees at my annual Academy Salute over the weekend. Join me in wishing them well as they depart on the adventure of a lifetime!

The power of the purse carries a duty: ask tough questions at hearings, debate priorities in markup, and govern responsibly on the floor.
That process culminated in strong House passage of our first FY27 bill - led by @JudgeCarter - supporting veterans and military families.
