Welp! Q3 was focused on "doing things that don't scale" before rebuilding and my @github shows it. Everyone talks about pivots and PMF...in retrospect when success is obvious or has been proven. Lemme tell you the brutal reality: it's quite humbling. The cool thing is getting to try new approaches, listening to your ideal users and going back to the drawing board. As you can see, build is picking up again 😏 time to re-imagine the future.

You know we are living crazy (and exciting) times when we at @grepdotai decided to rebuild the whole onboarding workflow on a Friday afternoon and it's ready by Monday at 7 AM. It's time to build, build, build.
t's YC Launch day for us @grepdotai! A cool fact: we rebuilt the whole onboarding flow during the weekend. We research the user (with their consent), prepare a profile, and them create a bunch of custom agents for them. This was an agent that'd take minutes. We now use a typed workflow in our own harness (github.com/Parcha-ai/agentru
) with a lot of @typesafeai's Jev and it does it better, in ~ 30 seconds for most users. Give it a try at app.grep.ai/?onboarding=true.

Take a look at what we are building at @grepdotai. Congrats @_aj and @MiguelriosEN on the launch!
We're building self-improving agents to automate tedious, repetitive operational work @GrepdotAI. At IG, a UK online brokerage, Grep agents review compliance alerts, helping over 80% of traders onboard without manual intervention. IG is now a FTSE 100 company. Operational work often means following a specific procedure, gathering information from different sources, checking it against what's needed, and deciding what to do next. The steps are repetitive, but no job is the same, making the work tedious to do by hand and hard to automate with workflows alone. Meanwhile, using frontier agents to reason through every task is often too expensive to scale. Grep.Al gives you an agent workforce that: -> Takes minutes to create and are domain experts with the right skills and tools from day one. -> Learn from every run, moving repeatable steps into code and workflows and saving frontier intelligence for exceptions and unfamiliar cases. -> Get smarter and cheaper as they scale using our AgentRun harness. -> Runs on our managed agent platform with secure sandboxes, audit logs, evals, cost controls, team sharing, and access controls included. Grep AI agents are available on demand and can run on schedules or in batch. Access them via the console, MCP, API, or SDKs that integrate into your existing workflows. Our customers, including IG, Airwallex, Worldpay, FV Bank, and Citizens Bank, have saved more than 250,000 hours of operational work with Grep Al agents across onboarding, doc verification, compliance, underwriting, operations, HR, GT ops, market research, and business intelligence. If operational bottlenecks are slowing your business down, create an agent workforce with Grep to automate them in minutes. P.S. We're in the @ycombinator Fall 2026 batch!

Companies are blocking Muse and that will force Meta to create apps for flight booking, restaurant reservations, and shopping. Will every company turn into a shopping mall where you need to go to their ecosystem to achieve your outcome (book a flight, reserve a table, buy a couch)?

Just when I think the @grepdotai team is already ahead of the curve, they have a new release that redefines how to work with agents in this new era. Congrats on AgentRun!

Pivoting is not failure, it’s the whole journey. But
dismissing the years prior to finally figuring it out and making it sound you achieved success in one weekend IS a failure to yourself and others. Can we make the hard part the headlines?

I missed Day 2 livestream. Interested in knowing why the pivot. Selfishly, pop ups marketplace is pretty much how my startup started and I have since reshaped it significantly. But it’s still in the same space and not a jump like a game studio. Beyond the tech, was there a business grok bot that helped inform the pivot? was it legal human team? This is all key to truly building a business from scratch.

My biggest (hot?) take right now is that to be an expert in AI means being ok with not being an expert at all. Expertise in this new era is the willingness to learn, to figure it out, and to allow yourself to be a beginner over and over again. A new model, a new platform or feature, or a new way of doing things. Try it, rip it, let it go.
The deep amount of anxiety people in tech are feeling is off the charts. Had a couple conversations with people of various ages and the themes are: - Every day there are 5 new earth shattering new tech breakthroughs. I can’t keep up. Should I be keeping up? Am I falling behind? - What does my career and skill mean in the age of AI? Is software engineering a 30yr long career any more? Is product management? - Is my only hope to start a company? - At the very least, it feels like I should join a startup but which one? Everything seems either overvalued or has no moat. - Okay I joined a startup. Is my company’s equity worth anything or will this be another Airtable or Miro? - Startup is doing well. How in the world am I supposed to find a significant other? - Will these immigration policy shifts allow me to be here long term? - Will I ever be able to afford a house and a life in the Bay Area amidst the biggest wealth creation event of all time? - Okay, I figured all of that out. What is my purpose? I’m wealthy but no one really cares. I don’t really know what to do with it. Am I supposed to start a company? - Alright I found peace in kids. But I’m worried about them. How does one raise kids in this climate? What are the rules of this new world order? Many of these concerns are of course not limited to tech or the Bay, although it feels particularly concentrated here (versus what I see in NYC). Maybe some people will read this and feel anxious themselves, and for that I apologize. For the rest, just know that it’s not just you who feels this way. It’s a lot of people!

Aaand they pivoted! Sort of. Yes, building in and for hospitality is hard. Too many moving pieces and regulations that make innovation harder. I’ve been on this journey for a year now. Can I help a restaurant or bar owner increase their margins? A sous chef or bartender open their own space? Not giving up because they are worth it. The shape @almibarapp is taking is different than the original idea but the purpose is and shall always be the same.
Watching as @poteto @mattyp @roshan_s are basically building their version of @almibarapp with Grok @bot All the feels. @grok what should be my next step?

Feeling like deja vu. @Codie_Sanchez was a judge at @Replit Race to Revenue's Showcase, where I presented my pop ups marketplace @almibarapp for the first time. Now she's doing the same with Grok @Bot team on the livestream.

AI is moving quick and so are we at @grepdotai. Great write up by @_aj summarizing the learnings throughout the past 3 years.
We’ve spent the past three years building agents for real production work. Our architecture changed a lot along the way. Some of those changes worked. Others produced expensive and occasionally painful lessons. Read this to learn from our mistakes.

Our customers have been creating lot of custom agents but often they want to run them on multiple inputs in a row. It could be for bulk processing, testing and evaluating or working through a queue or back book of tasks. So we shipped Batches. Point an agent at a CSV and it runs the entire table.

I’ve seen this with independent restaurants and bars and it inspired my @almibarapp pivot. They are losing private events revenue to chains or well-funded venues that have someone dedicated to quoting and coordinating them. They’re under-staffed and inquiries get lost in their inboxes. Decided to build on their stack. No new app to learn.
SF is committed to local retail in a way that's awful for consumers. I had a last minute need, tried to work with a local small business: no response, called twice told i would get a call / email back (never did), completely fumbled. National chain alternative answered my call in one ring, immediate response on my emails, has my payment and is processing my order. My kingdom for a big box store.

At an event in SF. A guy comes up: "You smile too much. You don't fit with engineers." Thank you?
