There are more than 5,000 certified #geneticcounselors in the U.S., but not everyone has access to one. Passing the #AccesstoGCs Act, now named #HR2144, would lower costs and improve patient health outcomes. Learn how you can support: bit.ly/3vWE2lS #GCchat – at Columbus, OH

Dare I say…my favorite @GeneticCouns AC of the 6 I’ve attended so far? Maybe it was the practical and compelling content, maybe it was my first time rooming alone (😉 jk, kinda). Thanks to all the rockstars that made it happen!
Proud that we incorporated issues in DEIJ when planning E02 on Somatic Testing - so much more to this but important to begin to address inequities now, while still in the planning and implementation stages. So let’s keep this top of mind.
Major takeaway from E02 Somatic Testing Protocol in Oncology - focus on somatic testing, somatic result interpretation, & it’s relation to germline should be taught in graduate programs (!!!)
Some of the best people and genetic counselors I know ❤️
We love seeing current and past OSUGCGP faculty together at #NSGC23 🥰

Real talk: mentally, physically, emotionally exhausted post #NSGC22. Apt is a mess, no groceries, sooo many emails and results to call out. Full clinic tomorrow. Framing it as: I am grateful to be in this position. Going to let the dust settle with a refreshed perspective.
Thank you @GeneticCouns for #NSGC22. DEJI conversations at the forefront; the tippy top of the iceberg as we push forth. Excited for our future, excited for change, together - for us, our patients, and our profession. 🫶🏼🧬

There has been a lot of talk about my “H” elbows in the OHIO pictured here but I stand by this creative choice and will not be providing a comment at this time @JuCooCGC @AmberAeilts – at Nashville, TN
Multiple generations of alumni and faculty presenting yesterday at #NSGC2022 on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD): Jennifer Roggenbuck (faculty), Kelly Rich (Class of ‘19), Maysen Mesaros (‘21), Victoria Klee (faculty, ‘20)
Such an honor to be recognized by my colleagues and professional society. Can’t wait for what’s to come. 👩🏻🔬

We need more attention and expertise in this field to ensure that patients & family members at risk for MDS and AML are identified in a timely manner. Our talented HALT clinic team @OSUCCC_James @OSUHematology aims to do just that. 🙌 @jamesblachly @JuCooCGC @NicoleGrieselh1
"The perception that familial forms of AML are rare certainly needs to be revisited." Nice editorial @anariomachin and @fitzgi02! ashpublications.org/blood/ar…
Better than salary or recognition - getting to work on what you WANT to work on.
