A man from the Pakistani Muslim community who claimed to be connected to a mosque in Isesaki city, Japan, used heavy machinery to bury 14 bodies without permission in a cemetery in Saitama Prefecture.
According to the cemetery manager, he found tracks from heavy machinery there. The man claimed he was buying the land, but he kept burying the bodies without the manager’s permission.
The Pakistanis would sneak in at night and bury the bodies secretly, so the manager contacted the police and had surveillance cameras installed at the cemetery. One day the cameras again captured heavy machinery arriving.
When Japanese police caught him, he put on a show of agreeing in writing to pay 2 million yen in compensation. But according to the manager, not a single yen has been received to this day, and the person involved has disappeared.
For these Pakistanis, neither the law, nor their own promises, nor the dignity of those corpses means anything.
The manager described leaving these bodies in an illegal state. The buried bodies are still lying there in the same condition.
This incident is like a direct slap in the face of Japanese law.
