When I was getting married, I asked a make up artist that does great work on dark skinned women to do my makeup, she quoted me 100k for white wedding alone…
I honestly started regretting why I went to medical school and she is always booked oh… Traveling up and down for work …
I went for a makeup artist that charged me 40k that was the cheapest one I saw then and it was cheap because the lady just had a baby and wasn’t really active..
She just came did my makeup and left, 40k in her pocket just like that
Meanwhile one Locum place i was working was paying me 58k to do 6 shifts 6 very busy shifts oh.
Hi 👋
This is not an achievement, if you can afford to pay for a flight , nothing stops you from booking a cab!
I do this whenever I travel by air. I’ll familiarise myself with whoever I’m sitting next to, collect their number, and ask if someone is picking them up or if they’re ordering a ride.
Once I hear “I’m ordering a ride,” congratulations, you’ve just become my airport taxi. 😂
I’ll discreetly use my phone to snap the car plate number and send it, alongside the person’s details, to my DSS friend in case anything happens.
Once you drop me, na block straight 🫣😂
Abeg, those airport taxi fares are not beans jare😂
Hi 👋
Not every bad outcome is negligence, and not every exhausted healthcare worker is nonchalant.
Accountability matters, but so do staffing, resources, welfare and working conditions. We cannot fix healthcare by blaming only the people working within a broken system.
Please next time, don’t ever describe us as such !

As a medical doctor working in a government hospital, if you ask me to work as a nurse for just one week, I might either run mad or leave the profession entirely 😭😂 The constant questions, endless complaints, and the sheer lack of appreciation? Wallahi, I don't think I have the patience for it.
And the audacity of some patients reporting their nurses to doctors will forever baffle me 😅🤌🏽. Omo, you're reporting the person you see 24/7, the person who attends to you and administers your medications, to someone you only see when you called or during ward rounds? 😭😂
Nurses deserve their flowers, honestly. The amount of patience and emotional energy that job demands is not for the faint-hearted!

For those of you quick to shout that we swore an oath.
Look at the oath, especially the highlighted part.
I wish you know what doctors go through to treat you in Nigeria.

You see, I will always advocate that you find joy in the little things that make you happy. Life is already too chaotic.
Don't wait for perfect moments, create happiness in the small, everyday ones. Let the small joys be your peace.🤗

As a doctor in Nigeria this was my fate 10 years post medical school and a Senior Registrar, this happened right in front of my hospital, and before you say my maintenance culture is poor, I lived in Olokuta in Abeokuta, google the roads there, and before you asked me why I bought Honda, that’s what I could afford 10 years of being a doctor in Nigeria.
Do you want to ask why doctors are leaving Nigeria or going on strike again?

Normally I no too rate @tvcnewsng,
But this babe is special in her silliness.
Why are Doctors on strike?

Journalism should uphold objectivity.
Journalists should report unbiased news.
Doctors’ strike is Nigerian President’s fault.

Does she understand that healthcare in Nigeria, both public & private, is largely paid for out of pocket?
More importantly, has she even bothered to investigate why doctors & other healthcare workers embarked on the strike in the first place before rushing to pass judgment?
Which one is “I’m definitely going to pay, Atleast Treat me first”.
You cannot condemn the reaction without first understanding the cause.

Honestly I don't think any hospital turns away medical emergencies.
The problem is Nigerians need to understand that there is a breakdown of Healthcare structure already, Referral is not neglect a patient. I'd explain
An average private hospital in Nigeria isn't equipped to handle most medical emergencies, I don't want to even talk about PHCs that should be the bedrock of Healthcare, A lot of them are Deados.
Let's use an example, A Diabetic emergency is rushed into the hospital with high glucose and they need insulin.
How many of these private hospitals even stock Insulin... in big 2026, when government isn't giving us 24/7 light, how many will stock insulin?
Of course if they see such , the only smart and wise option is to refer to another facility where they can get this care.
Were they rejected ? No. But they were directed to a place to get help
Now imagine they go to another hospital plagued with the same problem, and they also refer.. were they rejected ? No
That's what happens when there is poverty and lack of investment in healthcare.
Now let's imagine they even make their way to the hospital.
Since all the tiers of healthcare are broken down, the teaching hospitals and federal centers that should be the quarternary level of care are burdened with every simple case.
What is Malaria doing in a teaching hospital?
What is A minor laceration doing a teaching hospital?
These are cases PHCs can handle.
Oopps I forgot, most are dead.
But these teaching hospitals have no choice than to admit and care for these cases, because if they say go to a lower tier, same people will come to media and say they were rejected.
Now we have all these cases in the hospitals and beds are filled
When patients then come, where will you put patients?
Of course. There is no space and this is current situation but what will the public say. They rejected us.
If we will win. These are my proposed strategies
We need to demand the government to do better.
FIX PHCS!!!! Primary health centers will lessen a lot
Revamp existing.. I won't say create new ones. The ones that are there already are dead.
Fix the secondary and tertiary Healthcare
Mandate insurance for the whole country.
The government cannot do it alone . You need to have private public partnerships.
Fix the government hospitals
Invest in Healthcare, healthcare in Nigeria has hit a nadir, poor funding, poor remuneration, lack of personnels
These are easy fixes.
Consider investing in telemedicine.
It will solve a lot of these bottle necks.
If we don't fix it one at a time. We will keep complaining and the cycle will continue.
And people need to understand, Referral is not rejection.
Don't always think giving fluid is equivalent to saving lives.
There are emergencies that you need to get to a facility with appropriate equipments ASAP
Even the time wasted trying to salvage will kill the patient and what will the public say again?
"You know you don't have facilities and equipment. Why didn't you tell us.
You killed my Sister! "
So you see

Sadly, referrals are often perceived as rejection, when in reality, they reflect professional responsibility. There’s little benefit in accepting a patient when you lack the expertise or equipment to provide the best care.
The best doctor is the one who knows when to refer.!
Hi chief , so sorry about this
Can I have the HOD’s contact though 🫠
Since the start of this year, I’ve been eyeing a center where I’d like to start my residency.
An SR in the department introduced me to the HOD and I asked some questions about how they operate, activities, range of cases, salary and interpersonal relationships/communication between staff and the work flow in the department.
By the end of the day, I reached out to the SR and he said the HOD found my questions “Foolish and useless” and I’m disrespectful.
It’s been 4 days and the SR hasn’t replied my messages and refused to pick up my call.
Interesting times.
