This week I’ve been coming to grips with the fact that a lot of the people who are berating my stance are able to do so because they are in a much more comfortable living position than I am, I will absolutely be patting down, allyuh have it 🙌🏾
Ngl, growing up black black, Muslim and a resident in morvant gave me insight into a Trinidad & Tobago that exists beyond most people's understanding (on here). I have to remind myself that opinions will be formed with limited knowledge & experience of "other" realities.

So I should pander to these police while my living situation steadily gets worse. I should exist at their mercy. Never having police or protest based discourse on here again I wrong fuh dat.

Today we remember Grenadian socialist revolutionary Maurice Bishop, who was murdered 43 years ago.

I genuinely believe people who are secure within themselves are generally kinder people…people who are a mess inside usually do treat people the worst.

We CANNOT have sustainable energy because it threatens the oil industry. We cannot have healthcare because it threatens insurance. We cannot have peace because it threatens the weapons industry. Capitalism built a system where doing the right thing is treated like bad business.

how do you fix a society that thinks this is change?

Every AI product is just like "You can use this to be more productive at work and remember things about your life and loved ones so that you can spend more time on the important things, like doing even more work or scrolling social media"

The most effective political distraction is one that gives people an enemy to hate instead of a system to question.

A polite reminder that a revolution does not start on the streets. It starts in the minds of the people. It is started by ideas. Poorly educated people rarely revolt.

They already have their license to treat us as they will and we have no recourse but to bear that til 2023. And maybe we will But maybe we won’t. That’s all I’m sayin

The police aren’t holding back against the protesters in France, they are simply protesting anyway People are rightfully afraid of confronting police because they are the embodiment of the state’s monopoly on violence, but our option is to endure THIS governance til 2030
Kindly remember we are not white. 😭😭😭 Police shot and killed a pregnant Ornella who was protesting in Beetham the other year. I am firm believer in the power protests but a “France style” protest may not work for us how we think it will.

“the perfect candidate doesn’t exist” well i wasn’t waiting on the perfect candidate i was just hoping we don’t elect someone who tolerates police brutality and the extrajudicial murders of black people just like their counterparts

People don't necessarily resent injustice. They resent being on the receiving end of it.

The French Revolution was violent. The American revolution was violent. The Russian Revolution was violent. Freedom has never been won peacefully.
