"There's nobody else to tell this story..." The New Cross fire happened at a house party in 1981; 13 Black kids and youngsters aged 14 to 22 perished. A 14th victim died by suicide two years later. No one has ever been charged. The Thatcher government's indifference? Still vile.

The BBC have shone a light on the harsh pressure postal workers are facing, and the price paid by consumers for the historic mismanagement of Royal Mail. The company has been in structural decline for well over a decade, and the continuous failure to deliver quality of service is killing the brand, demoralising the workforce, and letting down the communities that postal workers are proud to serve.

50 years ago today on 6 Oct 1976, Cubana Flight 455 from #Barbados to #Jamaica destroyed by terrorist bombs. All 73 people on board Douglas DC-8 were killed. 57 Cubans, 11 #Guyanese, 5 North Koreans. Completely disagree, society shouldn’t function in a way that requires people to ‘hustle’ beyond their job — hustle culture needs to die. You should be able to live comfortably with any job, as you could a few decades ago. Our governance has fried your mind if you think otherwise

We all know 40 minimum wage hours isn't enough to sustain a very good standard of life. It never has been. Which is why you're supposed to make it enough by working more or earning more. Add that horrible warehouse job to your weekends for 6-8 months. Hustle.

People should be able to have one job, save money after their priorities in spending, and live life. They should be able to go to restaurants, out, on holiday if they choose to — not have to pick up 3/4 other jobs to make ends meet. It’s a travesty this is normal.
